Question isn’t not wanting him back but is it worth the money to do so for a injury prone player when we could go get a few great upcoming players instead.

Its not our job to be pragmatic. I'd rather buy 1 Bale than 2 Sissoko's!

Personally dont think this will or even should happen. Only thing that has me wondering if there is any truth to it is it would put bums on seats in our new stadium and it would also go some way to appeasing players who may want away in the window because they think we're not going to win anything.

Love your posts, mighty Hercules. This has cheered me up no end after the mother of all days. Daughter was scheduled to have an op on her permanently dislocated thumb. Then after four hours of waiting, we're told it's off. I kicked off royally- not large, shouty rage but just pure, controlled logical ire. The anaesthetist walks out the room in anger and leaves us there like daft twats. I then complain about her unprofessionalism, citing that spending five weeks with your thumb permanently dislocated qualifies as an emergency. The surgeon takes pity and bumps my daughter into adult theatre and now, mercifully, she's had the op and demanding Pizza Hut. Checking this site and reading these posts are such a tonic in times of stress.
Lack of sleep, my daughter's pain and the stress of rowing with medical professionals can finish anyone off: small mercies for Hercules and other itks who somehow, lumps of salt or not, play their small part in our states of mind

Feel your pain doc, I had to act exactly like you, multiple times, when my daughter spent 18weeks in hospital from birth.

It's a brave thing you did and good on you, virtually nobody understands the bravery it takes to challenge 'legitimate authority' like this (one time they brought the consultant, 2 docs and two senior nurses to basically try to pressgang me into accepting a needless adjunct I saw as dangerous, sucralose after bloods, they left the room with their mouths gaping after I broke down the substance chemically, relayed it's not found in nature, and an adjunct which did not affect the efficacy of the underlying procedure).

It would be easier to break down teams with son and bale as wide forwards.

Perhaps his injury problems would improve under Poch but I wouldn't spend anymore that what it cost to buy sissoko and I doubt Madrid would be cool with that

Better we find the next bale in the summer

A four or five year contract, plus transfer fee, would cost as much or more than signing both Sessegnon and Pulisic (including wages etc). At the end of the contract you could have two maturing wonderkids, or a 34 year old financial burden you hope China or the US of A wants to take off your hands.

Pochs methods are endurance based, he might eek 2years out of Bale but I suspect he'd encounter serious injury by mid-season first season. Sorry.

Playing devils advocate here, IF, and a very big IF we got Pulsic he would be pinched in 2-3 seasons, if we ever had a free run at him at all. so its swings and round abouts. Wouldnt be against signing him though.

Well done you for challenging and beating the status quo. The medical profession should be challenged at times, it does make them go over their decisions, or lack thereof, which can only be a good thing. This isn't the place for such discussion so I will stop there and not go into the reasons for my rant.

Apologies.

Agree, think he is ideal as adds a dynamic we miss largely, plus with the NFL association having their prized asset would help sponsorships no end. We won't get him of course (IMO).

Does that @tototoner still post? Bet he's getting a little twitchy (or is loaded and doesn't care).

I hope it's not true. Why spend that much on an injury prone 29 year old. Cast aside the romanticism and throw the money at Pulisic.

We don’t agree much but this is the truth really - not as romantic but the truth.

Mind, I’d still be excited if he joined

Its not often I buy into hype and transfer talk, but I have to say I wouldn't be at all surprised if this is brewing, for 2 reasons.

a) Why have a first refusal option if you wouldn't be prepared to use it, or even consider it. Its not like Levy didn't know what his wages would be.

b) New stadium and the prodigal son returns, guys if this happened, and he stayed fit, this is the shit footballing dreams are made of.

its beer night for me obviously lol.

Whilst I hope there is something in this, I'd love him back with us, a reason for your point a) could be a sell on fee. If clubs knew that we had first option at their price, they might go to a level we wouldn't consider thereby increasing the amount of the sell on fee we get.

Fully agree with point b.

Fuck it. Why not pulisic and bale? Who says they’re mutually exclusive. Let’s get sess to mature inbetween bales inevitable injury stints. Now that would certainly be a way to kick off the new stadium.
