That’s a night more associated with Arsenal these days. Also I don't get the issue with it being a Thursday night...

Yeah I agree. I have to remind myself of this every time I'm sitting on the met line going home from Wembley, as much as I hate going there at least I'm not coming back from Milton Keynes.
Have you ever seen a football match at MK dons? Not sure about that. I reckon we’d all prefer it more at MK Dons infront of a packed house every game with a cracking home atmosphere
Wembley is a bloody awful place to have to go and watch football all the time
Monsterous corporate soulless mega bowl that is impossible to create a good atmosphere in
I fucking hate the place. Sad to say I’d actually rather watch it on telly than go to that bloody place but as a season ticket holder, emotionallly blackmailed for countless years you just have to suck it up, again and again
I almost feel sorry for the spammers having to play at the Olympic Stadium now. Poor sods. I’m sure lots will turn it in soon. Another dreadful place to have to watch football each week

Hmm this come up as quoting me?You're talking like we're there for the next 10 years. We play our last match there in 4 months. Get the fuck over it.
ive seen loads ( being from Mk ) and it’s a fantastic stadium with a great atmosphere ( when full which isn’t often for Mk )Have you ever seen a football match at MK dons?

I think it was more to do with the date, literally just after the new year in that weird time where people are getting back to normal, work etc. Also the expense seems magnified just after Christmas. It's only the 2nd home game I've missed all season and the other one v Stoke was because of work. I think most people me included just dislike Wembley, it's a bit depressing there at times. Also I don't get the issue with it being a Thursday night...
I was more referring to the travel, which I'm assuming as your from Milton Keynes you'd probably disagree with. For the majority of fans they'd probably much rather travel to Wembley every other week, I know I certainly would no matter how much I hate the place. Not sure about that. I reckon we’d all prefer it more at MK Dons infront of a packed house every game with a cracking home atmosphere

I know mates who used their last leave day for the Swansea game.
This was a rearranged fixture 8pm KO meaning a mad rush to StPancs to get 10:37 train to Kent, home for midnight.
ps It's a genuine 50k attending not like spammers 59k every week though everyone knows there are between 10-20k less.
Also I don't get the issue with it being a Thursday night...
I have. And with the alternative being Milton Keynes, still bloody glad we're playing at Wembley
Weeknight games starting at 8 are a pain in the arse to get back from unless you happen to live in central London to be fair and not many people fancy getting home at midnight on a work/school night. In this case especially it's also right after the christmas holidays/new year so people are often short on cash as well don't forget. PLUS they messed everyone around for ages with the scheduling of it so a lot of people might not have had enough notice to plan accordingly..
To be fair, given all that, I thought the attendence was actually pretty decent all things considered. Over 50k isn't bad at all, it just looks worse than it is because Wembley is just so massive there are still a lot of empty seats unless you get a 75-80k+ crowd going, which was never likely for this.
I get that but cl games are sold out midweek. We've had Monday night football for donkeys aswell.
I agree, 50 k isn't bad.
CL game vs crap game against relegation battling tin-pot joke of a club from Stratford isn't really a fair comparison let's be honest

Don't disagree that we'd be having a better atmosphere week in week out at stadium MK, but for a solution for a season I think its difficult to argue against Wembley probably being the best/correct choice on balance.
god knows why I put that. you'd think the 'southlondonyiddo' username would have been a bit of a giveawayIs mk in south London?
