When I was a football mad boy I'd watch Glenn Hoddle and I'd play football on the streets trying to emulate/copy the great man there was no internet hell even videos were kinda new so I don't think I succeeded that well but anyway.
My point is maybe Townsend tried to copy Mouras style. Moura was very well thought of at the time Townsend was developing He's lost his place and maybe a bit of confidence due to psg signing two Ridiculous players, his stats seem pretty good still so I think for the money it's a no brainier.
If we pull it off

God that’s reaching for a comparison if I have ever seen one.

19 goals and 11 assists last season isn’t a bad return to be fair

Whilst playing for PSG, mind. In the french league, where N'Jie and N'Koudou were making names for themselves...

I've seen the youtube vids of N'Jie & GKN and they look positively decent. You've got to appreciate the context.

I've watched as much Moura as I can find on tinternet and I'm significantly unimpressed. Hope I'm wrong more as much as you hope you're right.

correct me if im wrong but have a feeling alot of you that dont want Moura are the typical english football supporter only watching EPL. And therefore only accept players from EPL due to your ignorance of other leagues.

A bit harsch I know but this is something you almost only see in England.

Incredibly cheap for where the current market is at. Will free up funds for elsewhere. Really can't see a downside and he brings PACE!!!

Agree. You Tube videos are a waste of time. Could make Sissoko look flash.
AD on TS said Moura would improve Spurs first 11 in his opinion.
Would he?
Thoughts on a line up anyone?

I am shocked that people are comparing Lucas to Njie & GKN. Except the fact they all played in same league , nothing else comes close to compare to him.

Very fact Neymar took his place after he scored 19 goals & 11 assist season before should tell a lot.

Sissoko has played nearly 1700 min this season. So, pretty sure, he will get his fair share of minutes than Sissoko

If we drop Sanchez then
4-3-3
Lloris
Aurier, Toby,Jan,Davies,
Eriksen, Wanyama,Dele
Lucas, Kane, Son

Were you also unimpressed with Eriksen and Verts who came from the shitty Dutch league?

He is quick but, at least at PSG, that is only a portion of his game. If people are expecting this guy who takes on his man at every chance I think they will be disappointed.

On the contrary, my one concern about Moura is that he does exactly that. I.e. trying to dribble past the whole team all the time and inevitably losing the ball.

If you’ve seen quite a lot of him and noted that he’s more selective in his play and plays the percentages when needed then that’s only a good thing imo.

Finding a spot in the starting 11 for Lucas when poch plays his wing back system is going to be very difficult.

Son tends to get more minutes and starts when we go to a back 4. With full backs . Be interesting to see what system we go with if Lucas signs and Toby returns to a back 3

Need to see this confirmed. Long have we awaited a decent player with some wheels in this team.

Surely its obvious that Lucas is taking Sissoko's place?

This signing would feel a lot like Aurier. It looks high profile because it’s PSG, but in reality, he needs a lot of work on the training ground. One good thing is that he is still fairly young and Poch is Poch so I have faith in Poch if this is his guy.

I've got my reservations about Moura but they are based on no playing time for PSG which is fair enough with the players they signed. He'll certainly fill a gap in that he likes to take players on and run with the ball. He'll fit in nicely with Aurier and is a great option/upgrade to have in the wider positions. I think he has plenty to prove and I'm hopeful that he'll be able to deliver. Arm round the shoulder time for a rejected player.

Hungry player with a point to prove. Exactly what we need.
