At the price reported, even if he is used as a bench option/squad depth it would be a great signing in my opinion. We are desperatley lacking in forward depth in comparison to the teams around us. A potentially very astute signing.

I've said this plenty of times but Spurs are not unique in terms of signing good players as well as bad players. People go on about situations being 'spursy' but shit does happen at other clubs too. Plenty of other clubs make dodgy signings but we don't take much notice because we don't follow those teams.
That’s is a fantastic point. I am just really ready for consistency in signings. I would like 4-5 in a row to be great or at least good signings instead of signing a Toby, Wanyama then Sissoko... I know that’s pretty demanding, but I would think that the scouts that are getting paid good money to watch these players would get it right more often than not. Maybe I’m way off here, but the last several years have felt very hit or miss. I will say, this past summers signings have been quite good so let’s keep that going.

I suppose that's a fair point. I feel the same about Sessegnon - a lot of tap ins.

I think my main reason for wanting to sign him is that he can control a football. There's one or two in our squad who can't...
I’m not a huge fan of Moura and if I could choose a WF to come in it wouldn’t be him. But saying that, at the price quoted it’s somewhat of a no brainier. He could well become everything we need and more if he realises his potential, but even if he fails then we will still brake even and He’s certainly a big upgrade on Sissoko. I do think tho quite a few people have been judging him exclusively on YouTube highlight vids which is a recipe for disaster!

Just a word of caution about the 19 goals, most of them were tap ins from balls played across the box and at least 2 were pens. Very few were created out of indervidual skill. I’m not saying I’m against him at all, but despite his excellent goal tally last season his finishing isn’t that great. PSG often just walk the ball into the net at times. Obviously being in the right place at the right time is a very good skill, but he doesn’t score the kind of goals Mahrez scores for example, at least not regularly.

we could really do with someone who scores tap-ins the number of times the ball goes across the face of the goal and no one is following in has been criminal this season

Every signing is a gamble....
I remember hearing the same arguments about Son.
Lets hope Poch gets the best out of him and turns him into a monster.

Positively positive about signing him...
He must have something in his locker because he was well sought after.

Do you know how grateful I would be if Sissoko had the vision to be at the back post to score tap ins? I’ll take tap ins because they are still goals that win games. Remember Tripier’s tap in that was a game winner against Watford? They don’t all have to be screamers or even stylish. It’s football not a fashion show.

We're going to sign a Brazilian international and people are pissed.... can only be a Spurs supporters thing
It's the select few. I'd imagine they're the same people who never thought Kane would make it as a footballer, think we should sell Lloris and Dele at every sip in form, and want us to replace Pochettino because he's "never won anything".

They're a special breed. The type that should be put down.

correct me if im wrong but have a feeling alot of you that dont want Moura are the typical english football supporter only watching EPL. And therefore only accept players from EPL due to your ignorance of other leagues.

A bit harsch I know but this is something you almost only see in England.

I'll have you know i'm a typical english supporter who only watches epl and have a totally open mind about moura.

Tbh i've found that our fans who don't know much about other leagues usually get more excited by players they've not seen much of than ones they know. Just have to have a decent youtube vid.

The difference would be your open mind then. Thats very good.

It is just something that has annoyed me for a long time. Especially english ”experts” hating on every manager that is not brittish and the over belief in some english players.

Totally because I think that we all know that the club are genuinely not far off winning trophies but we just need those one or two players that could really make the difference.

Not sure where you get that idea from. The English national teams gets dogs abuse from English people. Same for English managers.

.It's all about opinions and we should respect other peoples opinions when they don't abide with our own, for example there were a fair few opinions on SC that Harry Kane wouldn't make it, championship at best, you see, some opinions are just plain wrong.
My opinion is that Lucas Moura, should he sign for us, will be a success.

I might be wrong but thats how it is percieved from the outside, judging by the tv experts.

You know better how the average supporter views it. This is just something thats been talked alot about in Sweden, and we can only judge from tv and forums.

And this is it. We're not going to get many realistically better, on paper, for that price. Multiple league winner, Champions League experience, Confederations Cup winner, Olympic silver medalist.

He's an Alderweireld-esque signing. Top tier player who's not quite made it at the top table. Could go either way, but the upside is seriously good.

What I found interesting is he was PSG's second top scorer behind golden boot-winning Cavani last season with 12 goals, joint 12th in the league. But only their joint 3rd biggest assister with 5 next to Verratti, behind Di Maria and Maxwell, joint 20th in the league. That would suggest he's more of a goal scorer than an assister, yet ESPN Stats list his weakness as 'Finishing'

:D

You have massively unrealistic expectations. Given the fiercely competitive market that now exists to sign players i would be happy with a 50% success rate on players, even some of the big teams like Utd and Chelsea don't get that rate.

Different styles of player obviously, but Moura has more experience playing around the world and in the CL

Incredibly they're actually the same age (25); I think of Moura as a 30 year old since he's been around for a while, and I still think of Zaha as an up and coming 20 year old lol

Alex Ferguson's last two major boners, in fact didn't he sign Zaha after PSG blew Utd away with wages for Moura.

Not seen anything of him that I recall, but Fergies love alone makes me think Poch can get the best out of him.
