Possibly our most exciting prospect imo. I know people will say Skipp. But really believe Paris will be a superstar.
agree that's my only worry is that management and fans zero in on this one poor outing allowing them to look past the major flaws in trippier's game.
i really cant wrap my head around why some fans judge our academy kids so hard, but are willing to give the likes of sissoko and trippier a pass all the time?

Cameron Carter-Vickers: Won possession in the defensive third more times vs Wolves (17) than any other player has managed in a Championship match this season
yes, it doesnt help kwp if people try to spin yesterday's performance to try to protect him. he was put in a bad situation tactically and some people were over the top with their criticism of him in the match thread. But plain and simply he had a poor game, not the end of the world, Kyle just needs to learn and grow from the expierence.
People need to remember that was the first game in his professional career were he was put under extreme pressure and challenged properly. Yesterday was a good expierence imo and well could go towards the making of him in the long term.

Wonder if any connection with Ben Wilmot going the other way as has been reported earlier this month. Different positions I know.Lilywhite rose > Luke Amos has extended his contract with the club and will be joining Stevenage on loan for the rest of the season. Good luck Luke #COYS
wasnt meant to call anybody out in this thread, bc it is very easy to make excuses for KWP performance. I just wanted to say it doesnt help anyone to focus on the context and the circumstances of the performance, it doesnt help the people that like bashing youth and it doesnt help the player that should regardless look back on the performance and think he can do much better. He can be better with his left foot, in his one on one defending and in his off the ball movement. It's a platform to improve upon and he should be focusing on his personal performance not the shitty situation around him.I'm not trying to spin KWP's performance into a triumph, but I don't think there was much he could do about how we were set up, which left him very exposed, it was a frenetic opening 45 minutes, on a bobbly pitch, and just about every player had a mare, all with a lot more experience than him. Dier was incredibly lucky not to cost us a goal. This wasn't about KWP getting shown up by a super level of football, it was about our team being set up badly, on a blustery day and bobbly pitch, getting given an uncomfortable 45 minutes by an up and at em bunch of shit kickers.
I also think he showed some good intuition in his forward play, got into some good positions. I think it was totally unnecessary to take him off. And I don't mean because of the implications for him or his development, I mean for the structure of the team.
And just to prove this isn't only about KWP/academy players, I can understand why Trippier gets "a pass" for not being the best defender in the world, because he's the most creatively productive RB in this league.
Personally I thought it was poor by poch to drag him offKWP was poor but I would hope Poch isn't so reactive as to not to trust him again. I think the change needed to be made; that is bringing Son on, and I'm glad Poch was (finally) proactive enough to do it at half time.
I like this 800 game rule which I've read McDermott talk about, and I hope Poch believes the same. Nothing about KWP's performance at Newport suggested he wouldn't make it with us; to me at least.

Now do it for the 1st half, not entire game.
If a player plays 800 games 400 will be average, 200 will be worse and 200 will be exceptional. Likely for young players those 600 average or worse games will come before the exceptional ones, a youth coach's job is all about preparing them for that so the 200 exceptional games can happen. What’s the 800 game rule?
