Players in these positions are very fluid. I think you should take midfield and attack as a whole. Do man utd have 12 players for these positions? Absolutely.
Do Chelsea have Barkley and Fabregas too? Not to mention 3 centre forwards for one position and a plethora of holding/combative midfielders? Absolutely.
Not sure if we are really in for him but I do know that he isn't in a good moment there. From what I recall he started the season in very good form, not sure what happened. Is he any good???

How abt tarkowski?Sounds like we're actively searching for a Vert backup/ LCB.
That's a convenient way of seeing it.
If you want to add Fabregas to Chelsea's options, we can add Dembele and Sissoko to ours. Hence we already have more than 2 players per position. If we stick to the players natural position they only have Hazard, Willian and Pedro. The also have 2 strikers, not 3.
We don't have space for Malcom. If we want him we need to sell one of our 5 AMs. And I don't think it's worth it.
And finally we are not chelsea. We don't pay the players enough money to be happy on the bench
I think this is turning into an internet argument - never worth it. Perhaps it is not true that big teams need two players per position but it is not primarily a fan or media myth - it is an idea promulgated by players and managers. That's a convenient way of seeing it.

He has been the first choice psg left back but having given him a chance at he start of the season, Emery has preferred Berchiche - including for the games against Real Madrid recently. Ultimately Emery preferred a player who was more solid defensively. Is he any good???

A respected youth coach who knows him well said recently that his career is stalling. He is excellent going forward but weaker defensively. His positioning is suspect and he is having a difficult time mentally. His form is hugely inconsistent.
An microcosm of this is the game against Lyon away where he scored a great goal but then his misplaced pass led to Lyons winner.
He has just been dropped by Deschamps for the french squad which is big news here. Emery said in his last press conference that Kurzawa needs to find his confidence.
Conclusion: I suspect this is lazy journalism. A player reportedly wants out and is obviously keen on a move - psg have done a lot of business with spurs recently. He has undoubted strengths but in the end this deal is not for me.
However Poch knows how to handle players and does wonders for fullbacks in particular. As a wingback he would excel - it could be like having the old rose.
Also Aurier and Moura will be able to provide excellent insight, as will Lloris. If these 4 are for it and we can get a good price (10/15mill less than rose) then it may be worth a punt...
Edit: Emery’s press conference comments about Kurzawa biggest football story this morning. Must do better - promises to work with him to help him find form.
It’s more than recovering from an injury. His confidence has gone and he isn’t seen as sound enough defensively for big games. He wasn’t just dropped, he’d been out with a groin injury and struggled to get back up to speed.
We're being linked with Maxi Gomez from Celta. I think he could be a good backup. He said yesterday he'd like to play for us.
I mentioned him before as a good alternative to Dolberg or Arp. He's more developed than those 2, and I believe he wouldn't need to acclimatize to the physical demands of the PL. Maybe adapt to the faster pace, but he won't be bullied by strong defenders
21yrs old, from Uruguay, big and strong
I didn’t watch, but heard Sess was poor today for FFC. Is he worth 50m, or near? I’m not so sure myself.
I'm really not convinced by him, to be honest. If he was available for £10-15m, like young Championship players used to be, then I'd say it was worth the gamble, but £40-50m? That has flop written all over it.I didn’t watch, but heard Sess was poor today for FFC. Is he worth 50m, or near? I’m not so sure myself.
I know I may be alone and possibly not a one or the other but I'd rather see new contracts for our current front line and try to bring someone through.I didn’t watch, but heard Sess was poor today for FFC. Is he worth 50m, or near? I’m not so sure myself.
