Still have difficult fixtures. A few wins from the others and its squeaky bum time again. The meltdown would be brilliant if they get relegated but that was a good win for them

Tbh they will struggle to hang onto Lanzini and Arnautovic even if they stay up. Think a few will come sniffing for Rice as well.

Antonio out for the season with a hamstring injury.

Edit. Well, according to Sky Sources anyway.

Judging Stoke's performance yesterday, I could see wham losing to the Potters

Only problem is Stoke's lack of goalscorers, but they've got fight in abundance and a little bit of creativity in the guise of Shaqiri

Will be an interesting game

From what i read quickly on kumb the price freeze does not include the cheapest (£289) seats.
Will be really interesting to see what happens with season ticket renewals. Most WH fans were forced to buy two years of season ticket when they moved to the new stadium, hence there was no drop off for the 2nd year in the stadium. Now the fans have a chance to choose. Many people saying they won't renew. Even people who have been season ticket holders for 30+ years. How bad does the owners / stadium / team have to be that fans would give up something that has been such a massive part of their life for so long??

Kumb thinks the 50,000 fans on a waiting list is just a scam/made up number of anyone who has ever shown interest in getting a ticket. One poster quoted an email from the club saying "everyone who has wanted a season ticket since 2015 has got one" - which makes the waiting list a joke.

I think they are now safe, the win over Southampton was important. I can't see the team's below them getting enough points to overtake them. They could lose all their games and will be enough.. But I suspect they will pick up some points in those games... Everton will be the one right at the end... That's how they are lucky :poop:... But here's hoping.

The positive spin on them having Everton last is that Sam would love to send them down.

Ah well. The Southampton game was the killer. Wish Hughes had been in charge earlier so there would have been at least a bit of a chance. Can't see either Stoke or Southampton catching West Ham, and Huddersfield have a rough end to the season so that's four clubs I expect to see finish below West Ham. It was fun while it lasted though.

Surprise West Ham got a point. Chelsea created good chances... But some how joe hart woke up and had a great game.

I was expecting a hammering... With a demoralising 4 or 5 goals. Oh well. Guess they are safe.

The idea that a club the size of West Ham have 50k people on their season ticket waiting list is laughable. It sounds like they’ve plucked a number out of thin air purely to try and compete with Spurs.

They have never been a widely supported club by any measure, but it’s hilarious to think they’re trying to convince people they’ve had effectively 75,000 people desperately clamouring to be able to get tickets for games for the last decade, when we’ve all heard the “kids for £1” and “come and have a family day out watching West Ham” ads on TalkSPORT and in the Standard.

Joke club.

Their add in the metro a few years ago for their game against City had the tag line “come and see the stars” and had the pictures of the city players - epitome of small time

Agreed, all clubs, including us must massage the figures slightly, but as you say it sounds like they've just grabbed a figure out of their arses with that one.

Yeah - even more embarrassing when you realise it was a friendly against Bristol City.

There's a discussion on KUMB at the moment about the season ticket waiting list.

Now, I'm no expert, but I would have thought that the defining characteristic of a list is that it is a register of individual names in a specific order. Consequently, if such a list existed, one would expect West Ham to be able to identify anyone's position on that list so that they could ascertain how close they were to being able to purchase a season ticket and assess whether it was worthwhile having paid £10 for the privilege of being on this list (which some apparently did o_O). If West Ham couldn't tell you your position on the list, then it would be either a nefarious scam or a complete shambles.

Still, surely a Board with the integrity and competence of Gold, Sullivan and Brady wouldn't get involved with anything remotely like a scam or oversee a complete shambles, would they? So when one West Ham fan asked for his position on the list, then surely West Ham could tell him. Couldn't they?

Here are their answers to date...

July: We are currently updating the list and allocating numbers.

August: It should be available shortly.

October: Waiting list positions have been delayed, but I will get this chased up.

December: Passed to my manager.

January: I have chased this up again.

January: My manager has been off this week, I have chased this again.

February: We are unable to tell you where you are on the waiting list at present.

February: We don’t have access to the information that will tell us fans' whereabouts on the list, but we should have this early March.

Early March: We sold season tickets to all those on the waiting list since Nov 2015. Hopefully, you will be able to purchase one for next season.

Later in March: Once renewals have begun we will be able to disclose your position.

And renewals have now begun, but still no answer, along with the 15 or so occasions they never replied that I've cut from the above.

So the next time you hear reference to the mythical 50,000 list, don't think "50,000, really?", think "list, really?" too.

The only question is whether it's a scam or a shambles. And, as with all things West Ham, it's really difficult to tell whether the Board are operating with evil intent or whether they're just utterly incompetent, because, frankly, the end result always seems to be pretty much the same either way.
