Liverpool fans brick an opposition bus, Liverpool players attempt to bite/punch/dive/throw racist taunts... it's all in our imagination guys.

Forget you saw it. Let's focus on the other stuff...

Just seen that the Roma players were wearing t-shirts in support of a sick Liverpool fan - this t-shirt thing... is there a t-shirt printing business the owners have an interest in? Liverpool seems to love a t-shirt these last few years, it's their number one way to express their feelings - whatever happened to the shell suit?

That and the Fields of Anfield Road. Clowns obviously have no idea what the Fields of Athenry is about. Probably think there own version was the original anyway

Can't understand a word they are saying bar the part where they shout LIVERPEEEWWWWLLL

This explains the Irish connection ... With my home town, last night FB was full of cousins and kin saying '6 times'

The Irish relationship with the Liverpool Football Club stretches right back to the late 1800's when the club built it's stadium at Anfield Road. The name Anfield came from the old townland Annefield in New Ross, County Wexford. This area of Stanley Park had been named by Wexford shipbuilder Robert Samuel Graves who lived in New Ross. Graves was the first Irishman to hold the mayoralty of an English city. In 1865, he was returned as MP for Liverpool and held the seat.

Thankfully New Ross is also associated with the Tottenham family from days of old. I'm off to there right now on a school run.

LFC didn't build the Stadium at Anfield Road. Everton played there from 1884/85 to 1891/92. Late 1891 or early 1892, the landlord and Everton had a dispute that resulted in EFC leaving Anfield and setting up home across Stanley Park at Goodison, where they've been ever since. Meanwhile, the landlord (John Houlding) had a football ground, but no team to play there, so, in March 1892, he formed the club now called Liverpool FC, although it was originally Everton Athletic until the FA refused to allow that name to be used.

Well, well, well...

Now i'd never promote violence, BUT...

Imagine the sweet, sweet irony if Roma fans attacked these shuttle buses, filled with Liverpool fans, with bricks and bottles?

Oh how they would cry bloody murder :ROFLMAO:

I condemn any hooliganism/violence. Fans of all clubs shouldn't have to fear for their safety simply because they wish to watch their team live.

I do however think there is a degree to which last week's violence was an escalation of the 'welcome' which Liverpool fans gave the Man City team bus. That behaviour and the way in which most Liverpool fans found it amusing, while not of a similar scale to stabbing rival fans, will have only encouraged Roma's hooligans to think that Liverpool fans are fair game.

Absolutely. That is exactly what I thought too. Liverpool fans seem to think that it is okay to attack team buses but when something of similar ilk happens to them, it's suddenly not okay.

Roma fans definitely turned up to Anfield expecting a hostile welcome.

Sky sports have been running with Liverpool headline ‘we’ll fight for our dream’ as one of their main stories since yesterday, where it had two different pictures alongside it.

It’s now been promoted back to top story with another new picture alongside it.

Sky sports nom nom nom nosh nosh Liverpool.

Elsewhere on their big nosed **** Phil Thompson continually saying ‘we’ when blabbering on about them showing his lack of professionalism and in general annoying Liverpool ****ness.

I prefer it when they say "we" instead of pretending to be neutral. We all know which club he supports, I'd get the right hump if Ledley, for example, started talking about us saying "they " this & "they " that

When doing something for spurs directly yeah I’d prefer Ledley (EDIT:eek:r Lesley as he is sometimes otherwise known if you’re ipad keyboard is a ****) say we, but if commenting on a game for an independent company like sky sports he’d refer to us as spurs for example, still showing warmness but not complete bias.

It might be just because Thompson pisses me right off.

I’ll have to see what Jenas does as he comes across as having a warm sport for us still (so guessing he hasnt gone into Spursking chat much other the years! ???) but think he tends to at least try and also look neutral and professional, unlike Thompson.

I was thinking that myself (and there probably is a small degree of truth to it) but these are the same Roma fans that attacked a load of ours for absolutely fuck all reason whatsoever other than the apparent Jewish connections that we have.

Can you imagine if there was a warning issued here to fans from the continent to not walk to the ground because they might get stabbed on the way? There would be absolute uproar and rightly so. If the safety of away fans cannot be guaranteed without the need for the direct transport to the stadium then they should be banned from Europe imo. UEFA would say that because it's not happening at the ground it's out of the club's hands but it's the only way you're going to get through to ****s like that.

Then again, what's to stop Lazio fans pretending to be Roma fans to get them banned? It's a tough one!

Bit of a weird decision to ban alcohol around the stadium. First of all, the Italian Ultras who do this sort of thing are not drunken louts running their mouths and getting into arguments/fights with other fans, they're targeted and planned out attacks. Alcohol has nothing to do with it. Secondly, I've been to several Roma games and there's not really anything around the stadium anyway. It's on the edge of town and the actual stadium is inside a sort of sports park/complex thing a bit like the OS in Stratford. Short of a couple of the classic newspaper stand/kiosks that sell beer etc. that's about it. Seems like this alcohol ban around the stadium just kind of misses the point really.

Even back in 1982 in Munich there were fans from 1860 Munchen in our end, all dressed in in skinhead style
green bomber jackets, turned up jeans and high leg DM's, giving it large, Nazi style and looking to ruck with
the paramilitary style police

Just seen a photo of Liverpool fans with a banner saying "Grazie Roma por Mo Salah" which is basically half-Italian/half-Spanish :banghead:

No, I'm not fun at parties.
