Can we arrange a Stoof stamp? We'll still finish third.

Whilst you have fans who shit themselves and post OTT bollocks at the first sign of weakness, equally there are those who try far too hard to be a better supporter than the rest and bury their heads in the sand as to any issues and then if things don't turn out so well just ignore it - for instance it was only a few days ago that a few on here were confidently stating that all was fine and there was no way we could lose to West Brom......
Personally I think it is on a knife edge, going on the evidence of what we have seen in the last half a dozen games. We are more than capable of securing the couple of results that we need to get over the line, the balance of probability may even still be in our favour, but the evidence and certain things don't look good. We're currently in no form whatsoever, even recent wins (Stoke, Watford) have been really unconvincing, and have no momentum. The intensity to our play has gone, and several players give the impression with their play of being knackered. Maybe, hopefully, they can find one last big effort to finish the season strongly and reach our goals, but we've all been waiting for that for about four games now and it hasn't happened so I can understand why some might be really concerned at this point. Once that intensity has been lost, it's hard to flick it back on like a switch.
Well argued. Im convinced
To an extent, but how does that extend to us bottling games away from home then when we have one of the best away followings in the league? If the players play with urgency on weds I'm sure the crowd will respond.
Just point out to this acquaintance that it's pretty funny that the only thing he has to celebrate is the achievement of another team ( that they haven't even achieved yet)I guess this sums it up for me. A Gooner “acquaintance” of mine, won’t say friend! Set me an audio message on social the other day, and it sang two songs! “10 points and you fucked it up” and “ you did it again, you did it again, Tottenham Hotspur you did it again”
Just Fucking hate it. Spurs players please buck up your ideas and don’t do this to your fans again!
I was genuinely curious. I take it you weren’t.
Guess it’s a lot easier to ignore the fact the fans aren’t the ones on the pitch, nor the manager in control of tactics, strategy, belief etc etc.
But above all else these are professional athletes, I think you put far to much weight on how much influence any fans can ha e over their mindset. They didn’t get to where they are by being precious.
The best thing about a hostile environment (though it obviously can put off opposition players and lift your team) is the effect it has on officials.
Our players aren’t sitting at home reading our various bed shitters saying “oh I can’t be bothered, our own favs are a bunch of oysters so I think we’ll sack this off” or do you think this is a deep rooted, subconscious problem that leaks from the the fans to the players?
I’m not sure Poch and his “ me or another “ would demotivate the players but definitely it wouldn’t have helped. Reminded me a little of how he was forever talking about catching Leicester and then appeared disinterested in coming second. Only there is more at stake this time.
As I said back in April:
“WBA are unbeaten in their last 3, including victory over Utd at Old Trafford and drawing with Liverpool. We’ve drawn 4 of our last 5 league games against them, and not won at the Hawthorns in 3 years. This is our hardest game left.”
And this:
“St Totteringhams Day? It would be deliciously small time to Lord it over Arsenal then not qualify for champions league.”
A lot of people were taking this game way too lightly and I couldn’t understand why. There’s quite nothing like Spurs fans and hubris, refusing to accept things we do time and again.
As for those saying it’s still a foregone conclusion as both remaining games are at ‘home’, again I refer you back to April:
“We’ve won one of our last 5 games against Leicester, have already lost to them this season and haven’t beaten them at home for 3 years. We’ve lost 3 of our last 5 games against Newcastle, 2 of them at home (including last season).”
And more people like you, Shady, and more people like you.We need more people like you
Yeh in some ways i do. Psychology and momentum are absolutely enormous in sport, and i dont think you can overlook the impact tens of thousands of fans can have on those things. By the way this isnt criticism, cant really blame anyone for feeling that way. I just feel that it cant just be down to players and managers, give that our legends reputation goes back a couple of decades
We only need one of you Scat, you're that guy. Shame we have a bunch of that guys though ...And more people like you, Shady, and more people like you.
We just need more people. Loads, loads more people.
If we are to miss out on the top four it would be somewhat poetic justice. We have cruised our way through far too many matches this season, perhaps thinking we're better than we actually are.
We keep being told that we're 'building something'. That the 'future is bright, success is just around the corner'. That winning the Premier League and/or Champions League is our target, not the FA Cup. Well, guess what? Another season has passed and we've won the grand sum of nothing, yet again.
All of this at the same time Levy has decided off the back of two decent seasons (not successful ones) to charge extortionate Season Ticket prices (mine has gone up 40% - FORTY!) for 19 League matches. Oh, and to top it all off we'll happily stand aside and let one of the best centre halves in the world walk away from the Club because we refuse to pay our players the going rate. A year after letting the best RB in the country swan off to Manchester City to win the Double. Our players must be enthralled by the current 'project'.

I'm shitting it. Big time. It would be different if we'd been playing well but we really haven't. How the fuck did we end up here?
What's done is done so far, last few weeks has put us in a precarious position and there's no point complaining about it now as that won't help with what we've got to do.
Everyone has to be up.for these two games, players, fans....
If we get our high energy pressing game back we'll do it. Poch has a responsibility though to ensure we set the right tempo from the off on Wednesday evening.
Man C, Brighton and WBA didn't read the script, or where they meant to just rollover. all 3 of those teams had something to play for, and did their jobs, and had it not been for Forster at the weekend so would we of.
yep we played shit v Watford but still won 2-0
Personally I think if we beat Newcastle it’s done. Just psychologically we will then be 3rd and 2 pts at least ahead of chelsea and Liverpool. Imo one of the other 2 will slip up last game. The pressure will really be on the other 2 especially Liverpool where as we could get away with a draw. For Liverpool it would be a disaster, plus hopefully hughton will make sure they are on it if he knows he could do us a favour.
It is clear, if we win these last 2 games or get the 4 points and finish top 4, I will be absolutely delighted and there will be a number of us who deserve criticism for being too anxious (me included)
What I would like to know, is these people who are not worried, what will happen to them if we don't make it?
The amount of Spam I got after the Man City game about risk to top 4 and its not done yet, but look at the position we got ourselves into.
I hope we win our last 2 games and get 3rd, would love nothing more but those under estimating these matches need a wake up call, both these sides have had our number over the last few years, we need the lads to be on it from the first minute, start with a win on Wed and then worry about sunday
COYS - we can 100% do this but we need the players to show the same passion as some of us fans arguing with each other these last few days, all because we care, do the players care enough - we will know this time next week.
