I mean if you translated it then you'd see that your theory is completely wrong lol. I don't think Kluivert has any beef with our club, he's pissed off at Ajax doing it behind his back.

Kluivert was angry becaus ajax didn't tell him that they negotiated his transfer to us without him knowing.
Why on earth would Kluivert have reasons to go over to De Ligt and convice him not to move to Spurs ....because it's not a good idea for ajax players or what? De Ligt played with Sanchez, he will look at what a season Davinson had and will ask him about spurs and not kluivert....

Kluivert hasn't refused to come to us. His beef is with Ajax rejecting our bid without even informing him. He (rightly) wanted to be kept informed of developments regarding his own future.
That's obviously not to say that he would have agreed to move here, but he certainly hasn't publicly poo-pooed us, as the media with their obvious agenda's would have us believe.
As for Overmars, his head is very much on the block. In January he won a lengthy power-struggle with former team-mate Dennis Bergkamp for control over football-matters at Ajax. Bergkamp and his hand-picked first team coach Marcel Keizer were sacked and Overmars brought in his own henchman in Erik ten Hag, as well as a number of new players.
That move has so far backfired dramatically. They've seen PSV run away with the title and have created a lot of unrest amongst the squad over the treatment of Keizer and the new style of play that Ten Hag has tried to introduce.
The supporters are also getting restless at these goings-on. Hence the combative statements coming out at this stage.

As much as I want De Ligt, I hope we can avoid a long drawn out saga with a football director's pride and public perception on the line. Those tend to not work out in favor of the buying club...

Because Kompany is not reliable & the boy's better than the others they have, including Stones.
Pep has said he expects only to sign 2 & they can't keep laying out 200M, so I'm not sure this has legs.

It makes absolutely no sense for them, unless they are changing to 5 at the back (very doubtful).
Think the same as you but herc has mentioned in the past that city are also in for him so let's hope for the best
