Young manager? He turned 60 last november
Let's face it; the guy looks totally boss
Would love him in the squad
Tbh in my opinion his reputation in english speaking world is a lot bigger than here in german speaking world... of course hes a talent and i would be happy if we sign him, but he's still very raw
Commercially Pulisic makes more sense than Sessegnon. Also has played on a much bigger stage in world football. Age wise about the same but if they both cost the same then it’s Pulisic for me ...
His effect into the America market would be like what Son has done for the Korean Spurs fans
Yeah, I mean in general Americans still don't give a shit about the sport. I'm from Dallas which is one of the more hot beds in the country for the sport and still the majority of my friends know nothing about the game or pay any attention to it. They will watch the world cup games that the U.S. is playing in but generally know about Ronaldo, Messi and that's about it. The Americans who love the national team and don't have a rooting interest in a premier league team would certainly come on board though.
I'm in agreement with you there.NBC really minimized that group's numbers, though. Almost everyone who watches the USMNT has a club team they support.
I wholeheartedly disagree with this. Every American soccer fan that isn't already committed will be following his career for the next decade as he will be the face of US soccer for at least that long in my opinion. Hell, I'm a Spurs fan and I watch nearly every Dortmund match I can just to see how he is progressing. Spurs would get a great marketing boost in the US and Pulisic in turn would get a big marketing boost by joining a more accessible league to US viewers. Every soccer kid in the USA will grow up watching and idolizing him and if he played for Spurs they would be buying his shirts and supporting Spurs. (this assumes his career continues on an upward trajectory of course).I honestly disagree with this, I don't think he would make that big of an impact on the American market. When Dempsey signed, footy was still decently difficult to watch here in the US, so him going to a larger club was huge. He brought massive numbers to Spurs, I believe, by himself. Now, though, the media/market is completely different. NBC allows people to watch almost every match happening in the EPL. Also, most every major US city has multiple bars where you can find supporters for most clubs, and watch every match, every weekend. There was plenty of hype over here for Leicester's "fairy tale" season when it happened, and it drew big attention.
The US will be watching the World Cup this summer. If the US were in it, than I'd agree that yes, signing one of the big talents would be a huge pull for the US market. But they aren't, so it won't. I believe signing a star of the World Cup would have a massively greater effect than signing Pulisic (James Rodriguez of 2014, for example). People here want to watch special talent, I don't think they care where it's from.
Would seem odd though having only just signed Moura?
Moura for me was a strange signing. If Poch was going to sign someone for a wide position, the majority of some of the players we're being linked with can be suggested as better than Moura. Given the lack of game time he played this season, Poch could have waited until this summer to sign someone for this position too.
However, if we do sign someone now, I think it will result in Lamela leaving.
