I don't think he's leaving.

However, on a point of technicality, would Madrid actually have to pay £40+ million to get him, or is that just a figure someone has calculated based on the value and length of his contract?
poch's yearly salary is £8.5m according to reports, so
£8.5m x 5 years = £42.5m

So he should start at the top as a Manager and do the job without any experience of actually being a Manager ?
By all accounts Pep and Poch, who he is quite close to allegedly, put him forward for the Arse job.
He must be doing something right. If Poch rates him then he’d get my backing, should the worst happen.

Whatever happens we are a very attractive prospect now and would be able to bring in a strong replacement.
We are, however we are an interesting club still working within a limited budget, and still think this would limit our attraction.

But hey, this is all conjecture, as Poch isn’t going anywhere.

I think the worrying thing is if Pochettino actually leaves, how long will it take to replace him, who will it be, how drawn-out will it be. Also, if we are to believe past speculations, Pochettino has already rejected the possible advancements from Barcelona. How money times will he want to keep rejecting great Spanish clubs?
He also has a house in Barcelona, a city he adores and talks so fondly of. Can’t see the Madrid supporters or media liking that one bit. They’ll look for any reason to hound him out.

"I've just renewed (my contract) with Tottenham and I am happy." When asked about how Levy might react if he leaves: "Careful. Levy can bite!"

That’s not the best thing to say ?

Makes it sound like he’d like to go but won’t. To be honest, that’s probably being truthful anyway. Who wouldn’t like to manage Madrid in all honesty?

He has to be diplomatic and keep them sweet. We'd all love him to mug them off but it's never going to happen.

Fast forward to next summer, this window didn't go as well as planned, no trophies again, glass ceiling reached?

Meanwhile whoever has taken over at RM has been sacked for not winning the CL/La Liga double, and suddenly he's first choice again.

Plus having RM giving him the gooey eyes will always give him leverage over Levy.
