Right.

Instead of just saying Its nice to be linked but I'm 100 percent commited to spurs and will definitely start the season at Tottenham he's instead winking and making blowjob signs to Madrid .

That makes the rumours go away, no doubt hanging over the club, fans or players until Madrid appoint someone. Nothing for media to spin

Think it's a poor one from him personally. I get I'm in the minority though
Hmmm.....if I was doing publicity for my book in Spain, and the biggest Spanish club is rumored to want to hire me....do I dismiss out of hand the possibility of managing in Spain or do I call Levy and say “I’m totally committed but let me flirt for a couple of days....?”

Seems like poch's mentor just got a job at leeds and is waiting for a work permit.
Who knows in a years time biesla might have them in the prem facing off against poch and pep.
Leeds have gone through like 20 managers in three weeks. He won't last until Christmas.

Bielsa lives & breathes football.
He's an eccentric who thinks outside the box.

If Leeds land him & back him they'll do fine.
It would bode well for us if Poch has him nearby.

Not convinced, Bielsa teams are famed for running out of steam, in a 46 league... lets see how he does.

I have to say, I think some of the posts worrying about Poch are justified. He mostly says all the right things and then ends it with ‘but you never know what will happen tomorrow’. He’s said that before and he means that he could be sacked by Spurs as well as him leaving so it doesn’t concern me too much. He also said ‘When Madrid call, you listen, but it doesn’t depend on me’ which suggests if Levy said he can go, he may. But he would practically end any speculation by just saying something like ‘Madrid are a great club but I have a project with Spurs and I will be here next year’. No ifs, no buts, just straight forward. That wouldn’t offend the Madrid heirarchy either.

His interview in Spanish was a lot more positive actually. He said he’d like to manage the Argentinian national team, Newell’s Old Boys and possibly Espanyol again and said something along the lines of ‘and if a job like the Madrid job became available one day then maybe’ but in context it was more reassuring that it sounds above, it almost sounded like Madrid was an afterthought. I’m sure it wasn’t but he made it sound like it was. Or the translator did anyway.

The bottom line is not once has he said ‘I’m staying next season’. He’s said he’s proud etc and I realise he wants to be respectful to Madrid for future purposes but it seems like he’s being quite careful with his words.

The comment about ‘it may not be possible for you to turn down Madrid but for me it is’ was his most positive comment I thought. What a wanky question/statement from the reporter by the way.

I think he’ll stay. I also think if Levy said he can talk to them if he likes, then he’d be gone. I know some supporters can’t understand why he’d be interested in Madrid as there is no longevity and players ethics are often questionable etc but I honestly believe all that goes out the window when it comes to managing Madrid. Managers just see themselves as managing the most famous team in the world. I personally think he’d be mad to take the job now of all times after 3 CL’s in a row but we’ll see.

I know the itk’s are all saying he’s staying and this pleases me lots. He obviously doesn’t come across as the type to force the issue so if Levy doesn’t entertain the offer, which I’m sure he won’t, then hopefully that’s the end of it, until next season anyway.

Apologies if this sounds negative, it’s not meant to but it’s been on my mind more as the day’s gone on, especially after seeing all the interviews. I firmly believe he’ll stay but I can understand some of the worries. The speculation should all be done and dusted by now but it’s not. Madrid will still make an official approach I’m sure so we’ll see how that pans out. Hopefully the fax machine is still broken.

If he stays and he’s backed properly, I genuinely think we’ll win a trophy next season. ?

I agree with you, that’s how I feel. I don’t think levy would let him go though. For some reason I keep thinking back to when Levy did the ice bucket challenge and he nominated Perez afterwards. I don’t think there any love lost between the two. I really don’t think DL would give up his golden goose without a fight despite the respect that probably exists between him and Poch.

Poch has left the door open though with those comments to the Spanish journalists annoyingly and that’s what the papers are running with. They just showed it on sky and the translator reports Poch saying and “if a job like the Madrid job became available one day then why not” and not maybe like you said above. I don’t speak Spanish though so don’t know the exact wording he used. I’d get a mate who’s fluent in Spanish to properly translate but he’s on holiday frustratingly.

I haven't seen this line quoted yet:

Pochettino said: “It would be disrespectful to Daniel for me to force a move. I’ve just renewed with Tottenham and I am happy. I live in the present – there is nothing more important than that. I enjoy what is happening and what has to be will be. The link now with Madrid is normal and I take it with all normality. I’m committed to Spurs and still have a long contract with them I just signed.”

I think that sums it up really; I'm pretty confident he'll be staying

I'd be genuinely worried if I were a Liverpool fan

Not only Klopp, but Salah will be in RM's crosshairs
As much as it would make me laugh I genuinely don’t see Klopp going in much the same way that I couldn’t see Poch going.

Both have teams and fan bases that are bought into their respective styles and life at Madrid is more tricky for a manager than a player as there are always power struggles around players (CR7) and the presidential side.

It would be such a short term thing for either that it could potentially ruin their growing standings in the game (13 managers in the last 15 years for Madrid is a scary stat).

Klopp’s lost his assistant this season. I wonder what baring that would have on things.

After the season he’s had maybe he wants to challenge with a team who might actually have a chance of winning things. I wouldn’t rule him out, they’ve looked at him before.

Somebody said it’s the presidential elections at Madrid next summer. If Klopp is the man the fans want them Perez may well listen to them. He’d be wise to.

Nah can't see it. Klopp has spent years assembling his team at Liverpool. They got to the CL final and are getting some good players in. Klopp would be mad to leave them now as his squad building seems to be coming to fruition.

Klopp could have gone to any number of top clubs whilst flying high with Dortmund. Like Poch, he's committed to interesting projects/more interested in becoming a legend.

What?

Redknapp downed tools and stopped turning up to training as soon as the England job became available. Pochettino has genuinely turned down Real Madrid, and we’re accepting he’ll probably make the step up in a few years. That’s without factoring in that Real are a huge step up from Spurs, and judging by the candidates it has attracted over the last two decades, the England job isn’t. The difference couldn’t be more stark.

Where did you hear this?

If all this had happened 2 weeks ago id have been been very worried. As it is i really can't see the guy who sacked off the best CB and LB in the league for disloyality jumping ship 10 days after signing a 5 year contract.
