England just too disjointed from defence-midfield-attack and have very little between the lines in my opinion. Again the main option seems to be to just knock it into the channels for a runner. Not helped by Vardy unable to get in the game and Rashford not a No.10, too much similarity so far.

Rashford and RLC are impact subs for me, neither demonstrate any real awareness of the game around them, where to position themselves etc and what choices to make. It's just the classic 'flair'-looking option that gets fans excited for a few seconds before being wasted. Hopefully that's the cue to make me look silly in the second half........ TAA is trying too hard for the miracle ball with his set pieces, take some of the whip/pace off it and just focus on putting it in a good area kid.

You sense that if one side, particularly Belgium tbh, stepped on the gas they could take the other by surprise and nick the win. We'll see.........

Would much rather we had a stronger side out there building more understanding in a competitive game. This is fucking pointless.

Jones is like a dinosaur. An old fashioned CB that’s out of fashion and out of place.

Gary Neville struggling to say anything about this game. You know he really wants to say, "Mate, this is fucking boring, it's a bloody friendly."

If that's all Dembele is, we don't need to replace him. We have Dier and Wanyama for that.

But that's not all he is. I don't disagree that he doesn't quite contribute enough going foward, but there's also no player that we can obtain with his ability to retain possession and boss the midfield.

Complete farce of a game. Imagine paying for flights, hotel and match tickets for the marquee game and are given a reserve match. If this involved two other nations pundits which be calling it a disgrace.

They may as well have just called it a draw couple of days ago and picked it out of a hat who comes first, neither manager cares about winning as 2nd is the better route, if they did care they wouldn't have rotated nearly whole team.

If it wasn't England I'd want them both knocked out in next round for giving this to the fans who travelled miles for this.

Id like to see us really go for it second half. If we win then great if we lose we get the 'easiest' half of the draw. We really should be able to play without fear and attack more.

Possibly because you haven’t spent hundreds of pounds getting out to Russia only to be treated to the sight of our reserve side struggling to string a few passes together. :nailbiting:
Everyone knew this team selection was possible before the game. It's not the responsibility of the manager to put a team out to please the fans.

On an unrelated note, I don't often watch ITV live on the web so I'm very pleased to see that on the whole British TV ads are still incredibly superior to anything on American TV.

exactly. imo the right choice to paly the second team because we need to rotate eventually if we want to go far in the tournament. 2ndly we can afford to lose this game, but we cannot afford to get our first teamers injured for this sort of games

TBF this did make me laugh from the BBC.

"Oh hello negative England fans! You must have had a horrid few weeks. Good to see you again on the biggest stage..."

Because that's the only thing you need from one of your holding midfielders.

Dembele should be a total box to box world beater with his talent. He just falls well short, perhaps mental weakness.
As it is his limitations mean he is not first choice for Belgium and doesn't play for Real Madrid.
