Makes no sense. Croatia had a certain goal taken away by a foul. They would trade the goal for the card in a heart beat. Awful decision not to give a red. Rule needs clarity.

A new rule should be developed to prevent situations like this and the Ghana and Suarez incident.

The referee should have the power to award a goal.

"IFAB has published changes to the laws of the game for the 2016/17 season, the most notable altering sending-off offences inside the penalty area...the law has now changed so that players committing accidental fouls, that deny a goal-scoring opportunity, are not automatically sent off, but cautioned instead. Players will still be sent off for holding, pulling or pushing, not playing the ball or having no possibility to play the ball, serious foul play, violent conduct or deliberate handball."

He went for the ball so therefore it isn't a red.

He stopped a certain goal by fouling. The guy was round the keeper and about to put it in the net. Has to be red.

Denmark should have a parade for Jorgensen they win this. Knight him or whatever the hell it is they do. Absolutely fantastic, smart foul. Lots of CB's give up and just watch that go in.

Yeah its designed to remove the triple threat of red card, penalty and suspension. It's only serious foul play that would see them sent off.
