The antidote for an adrenaline rush is always the next England performance. Scientifically proven...I think adrenaline is gonna keep me awake until 2019 after that.

Think this is easier said than done. Having someone ram the back of their head up your chin with some force, is a sending off offence. Ref lost control and respect in this game, and the Colombian players knew it and took advantage of it.Can't believe how thick some of our players were in the first half:
Maguire, Henderson, Lingard, especially.
Thick. As. Shit.
Colombia were imploding. All we had to do was keep our emotional distance and let them foul us, give us freekicks and get their players sent off.
Couldn't believe what I was seeing. They were literally handing the game to us and we declined.
Must have better discipline and feel for the energy of a game going forward.
Use situations like that to our advantage, not be consumed by them.
I thought both instances were outrageous.Think this is easier said than done. Having someone ram the back of their head up your chin with some force, is a sending off offence. Ref lost control and respect in this game, and the Colombian players knew it and took advantage of it.
Clear pen against Carlos Sanchez, and then probably 3/4 minutes of players surrounding and barracking the ref for no good reason. How they didn't get a red card is mystifying.
We got involved at the very beginning of Colombia's nonsense antics when we should have viewed it as the opportunity it was and taken a step back and let them fully implode.Think this is easier said than done. A Collina would have pulled the Colombia captain aside and let him know the score well before things got out of hand. If you don't feel you're protected by the ref, you have to fight your corner. I don't blame our players for reacting, 'cause the ref wasn't protecting them.
I agree. Ref lost control. Completely out of his depth. They didn't take his warnings seriously, because he never followed through on them. He needed to warn the captain he would use the red for the next serious infringement.I thought both instances were outrageous.
1) If it's a headbutt, it's a red. Henderson makes the most of it, but so be it. Suppose you have to in order to draw any attention to it. Did they review it in the booth? guess not. How can you look at it and see a yellow? you either see a headbutt and a red or you miss it completely. A yellow acknowledges... something. But then no review to confirm it? bizarre.
2) not just the foul and swarming the ref, but he warned them in the first half, he warned them before the kick was taken and this was something like the 28th penalty so far. How many times!!! You could see when Colombia had their corner in stoppage time how careful England were not to get too close or foul them and instead Mina scored a header. But at the same time as they were harassing the ref, one of the players was stalking Kane and another was scuffing up the penalty spot. None of this is getting dealt with by the ref, his assistants or the dudes in the booth. It's all on camera because we saw it. They must have too.
We did let them implode, and still the ref did nothing. We got the result and handled it well. Stood up for ourselves. No schoolboy errorsWe got involved at the very beginning of Colombia's nonsense antics when we should have viewed it as the opportunity it was and taken a step back and let them fully implode.
Fuck injustice. We use their own frustration and anger against them; not dive into it, making oursleves vulnerable.
They are super hot heads and were whipping themselves up into an almighty froth and wanted to drag us into it.
We took the bait.
Schoolboy error.
Anyway, old news. Another nasty, bitter SA team fucked off for the good of the tourney.

I read that he got them all to run off quickly at HT and not get involved in any of that. But then the Colombia coach steps in and barges Sterling anyway.Actually I would have like Kane to step in as Captain and orders his players to step back and let the Colombians go berserk.
You would have thought that Macguire, given his size and just his look, would have been one of the first to flag in a long game. It was the opposite.Thought Maguire had a great game tonight. Know he was at fault for the goal but none of those players was gonna stop that header. Maguire was fantastic in the the air, and decent on the deck. Cut out through balls and got rid when needed. That's a player developing...
I'm pretty fluffed to be fair, winning a shot out felt like winning the word cup....I over indulged..
Let's celebrate the win, but be realistic... We have potential but deserve nowt unless we prove it in every game.
I'm just happy to have a team that we can identify with.
Get in!!!!
He and Young (at times, surprisingly, as he's highly volatile) tried, but heads were still going; remarkably.Actually I would have like Kane to step in as Captain and orders his players to step back and let the Colombians go berserk.
England lacks that creative midfielder, like a Christian Eriksen. We have holding CMs like Henderson and Dier, and then hybrids like Alli, Lingard etc., but no actual creator directing our play. Think it'll tell in our upcoming games, but who knows? It's nice to enjoy the ride. Some people are being a bit harsh on this team.
This is one of the youngest and most inexperienced squads we've ever had not to mention in the tournament as a whole, so yeah, we could have done better as a team in certain situations as well as individually at times but cut them some slack. We've had squads crammed with experienced internationals not do nearly as well, a lot of these players are learning on the job so to speak. Colombia pushed them to the limit in many ways, taking them to places they'd never been before.
They showed tremendous resilience to come back from the blow of conceding so late, ground it out and had the nads to win a penalty shootout, they are just as likely to go out against Sweden as go through but they've done enough for me, I've no complaints, they've exceeded my expectations by far, I honestly wouldn't have been surprised if they'd not got out of the group.
That said, Henderson and Young are still ****s
In terms of attitude and application there's plenty to like about this England team, but that's still another 120 minutes of football without really creating a single quality chance.
I think for 60-70 minutes England huffed and puffed well enough, worked hard without the ball, and went through some decent motions, but there were times when people like Sterling made good forward runs, but the player on the ball (Lingard in this case) sometimes saw the pass but wouldn't take the risk and play it. I think the only player I saw play anything clever and incisive was Trippier's free kick that Lingard fucked up. The last 45 minutes was like regulation tournament England, just no control, humping the ball forwards aimlessly.
And as much as we've all seen Alli frustrate as much as thrill, without him on the pitch England look even more one dimensional. I really think Southgate should have shown some nads and took a player like Sancho (instead of fucking Welbeck), someone who can do something unpredictable.
I really don't understand why Southgate has Kane constantly dropping in, he did a great job tonight and worked his arse off, but there were times when you really wanted him pounding that last defender not Sterling or fucking Lingard. At least let them alternate, have Sterling dropping in, picking the ball up and running at the defence and creating something for Kane to finish, not the other way round. In terms of overall game, that's the best game Kane's played in four months.
I thought Lingard was fucking poor, when England were on top his passing lacked wit, he wasted a couple of great situations, and when they weren't he was not great without the ball. Shame Alli got injured cause I'd have had Lingard off, nit him.
Fortunately for England, their group and now knockout draw couldn't have been designed better if Ian Wright had done it. Even when they get a pretty meh Columbia, they get them without the golden Hamster. The biggest challenge they face between here and a final is a Croatia side that, judging by their last game, have somehow managed to turn Modric and Rakatic into Scotty Parker and Wilson Palaciosis.
haha. you're assuming Croatia will get a fair shake in Russia while Putin is still drawing a breath. Croatia is a far better team than Russia, but then so were Spain and yet Russia advanced without scoring a goal from the run of play for the last 3 and a half hours they've played.
Im not a conspiracy nut but look at the facts - Russia probably wouldnt have qualified, they were artificially seeded in Pot 1 (that should be abolished BTW) and thus had an easy group and then they got past Spain without creating squat.
The spurs boys score penalties, the one Liverpool player misses, I wonder what the bindippers will say now...

So did Russia influence the whole Spanish team to pass the ball around and not create anything or was it just Pique for the blatant handball?haha. you're assuming Croatia will get a fair shake in Russia while Putin is still drawing a breath. Had nothing to do with the ref or any dodgy VAR decisions
