Why didn’t Vardy take one I wonder?

Southgate said they've been looking at players technique. I remember Vardy getting some stick on motd once for a penalty miss. I think they are a bit hit and hope.
I was expecting him to take one though. Might have been on the 6th if it got that far.

Kane and Stones had a long hugging moment. Thought that was a bit weird.
Not as bad as the shot of Lingard humping Kane on the ground....

But, As to Stones, looked to me like he really looks up to Kane. I thought it was good to see.

Hard to tell if they were lined up in order - but if they were, it looks like Stones was 6th, Vardy 7th

Interesting. I would think he would be happy to take one, he's confident enough.
Seems like a management decision having studied all the players pens in training. Fair play.

In terms of attitude and application there's plenty to like about this England team, but that's still another 120 minutes of football without really creating a single quality chance.

I think for 60-70 minutes England huffed and puffed well enough, worked hard without the ball, and went through some decent motions, but there were times when people like Sterling made good forward runs, but the player on the ball (Lingard in this case) sometimes saw the pass but wouldn't take the risk and play it. I think the only player I saw play anything clever and incisive was Trippier's free kick that Lingard fucked up. The last 45 minutes was like regulation tournament England, just no control, humping the ball forwards aimlessly.

And as much as we've all seen Alli frustrate as much as thrill, without him on the pitch England look even more one dimensional. I really think Southgate should have shown some nads and took a player like Sancho (instead of fucking Welbeck), someone who can do something unpredictable.

I really don't understand why Southgate has Kane constantly dropping in, he did a great job tonight and worked his arse off, but there were times when you really wanted him pounding that last defender not Sterling or fucking Lingard. At least let them alternate, have Sterling dropping in, picking the ball up and running at the defence and creating something for Kane to finish, not the other way round. In terms of overall game, that's the best game Kane's played in four months.

I thought Lingard was fucking poor, when England were on top his passing lacked wit, he wasted a couple of great situations, and when they weren't he was not great without the ball. Shame Alli got injured cause I'd have had Lingard off, nit him.

Fortunately for England, their group and now knockout draw couldn't have been designed better if Ian Wright had done it. Even when they get a pretty meh Columbia, they get them without the golden Hamster. The biggest challenge they face between here and a final is a Croatia side that, judging by their last game, have somehow managed to turn Modric and Rakatic into Scotty Parker and Wilson Palaciosis.

Thought our Spurs boys were outstanding tonight (including Davinson), immensely proud of Trips and Dier stepping up to smash home their pens while Henderson was busy doing keepy uppies and Vardy was presumably sat on the half way line chewing gum like the tiresome shit haired racist he is.

I think a lot of that is down to the physical version of Kane that we have now. It's not the super-charged Kane we had early season. He hasn't consistently been pounding that last defender for months.

But, he's that good a player, and that versatile, that he can compensate and still be effective. A fully-fit Kane, and this tie doesn't get near extra time. Just my take.
