I mean surely he's seen a doctor by now.. I can't imagine a professional sports organization doesn't immediately send their guys to a doctor at every instance of bother. Trainers are on the field at all time and if its something they can't work out right then they're sent back inside.

Maybe but we haven't had an update on it that I've seen.

He's been sent home to see a doctor but Poch did confirm it's the same injury as last season:

“Victor is in London because they need to see the doctor there. Is Victor’s injury the same as before? Yes.”

Let's hope it's not serious. Last time he was out for 4 months.

He said it's the same knee yes. We don't know it's as serious as before yet.

To be honest Cook seems to be a little underrated on here compared to Grealish. He’s two years younger than Grealish and is already looking good in the premiership in a team who play half decent football. Really good technically, looks to receive the ball and get it forward quickly, and although he’s obviously no Dembele, he’s tenacious and pretty quick. Only downside really is that he’s a pretty similar player all around to Winks - which may stop us from pulling the trigger.

Would be up for it, no more than £20 mil and maybe Josh on loan perhaps? Or even still play Josh instead, he was the standout CM for that U20 team...

Looks a prospect but I think it depends on Winks and whether or not he can rediscover his form. I would rather give him another shot, but who knows what he will be like after being out for so long. We need to be looking for a starting CM and I would hope we are looking at players further along their development then Cook.

Always thought he looked a quality player. Remember seeing him at 18 or 19 breaking into that Dortmund team, had such potential...and at 22 such a long way to go.
Anyway, this is the Cook thread, will leave it at that.

Only seen highlights of him, but if he's available for a reasonable price we should take a punt on him imo. Young and English, yet not high profile. We need two cms anyway, so get someone like him and one who's more established at a higher level.

The season starts in 10 days and our situation in midfield looks diabolical. Dier and Dembele are still on vacation and Winks and Wanyama are injured. Scary thought that none of our midfielders will have had a full pre season.

He also captained the England U20 team that won the world cup.

Would be a very good signing with potential to be great.

The Express is also carrying the story both attributed to Alex Crook. I am not super familiar with UK tabloids so are they the same or owned by the same parent company?
