Really hope theres nothing to this one, i'm local to Leeds and he was really good for them and i know he's stepped it up for Bournemouth but i just can't help feeling hes not top table/Champions league quality. We have plenty of bit players already that can have a run in cups and against weaker opposition i don't really feel he's any different and certainly not as good as Alli, Grealish etc....

I’d be happy with either him or Grealish if it’s one or the other, both homegrown with great potential. Cook is a good all round young player, reminds me of Scott Parker with a bit more flair.

It's like someone in the club flip through our squad list and suddenly realized we need more homegrown players 2 fucking months into the transfer window

Went to school with him, same year, same classes, great kid. Always had a very professional head on his shoulders, never went out partying or messing around as he was souly focussed on football.

Good mates with Dele as well as they have played in the England setup together, remember him talking at school about him as he used to prank all the kids in the hotel rooms?

In a playing sense, he is energetic, great eye for a pass and does the nitty gritty defensive work as well as pressing forward! If we sold Dembele and could bring him in alongside someone like N’Dombele, Kovacic or Someone, we’d be laughing!!

I’ve been impressed when I’ve seen him play. He could do with at least another year at Bournemouth. Would be happy if we did sign him in the future.

.

This sounds ideal, but it does beg the question of what would happen to Winks. I would be all for Cook as a rotation option/one for the future but not as our primary target for CM. Although, I would maybe prefer Winks to fulfill that roll if he is still capable (rotation option).

I think should Dembele leave we realistically have Winks, Wanyama and questionably Dier as CM/CDM options...although I’m sure Poch sees him as a long term CB...

I know Eriksen and Dele could do it but realistically Poch has never played them there so I don’t think he will start anytime soon...

If you were to have say Wanyama and Dier as Bullish, Strong options, and then had perhaps Winks and Cook as zippy, ball-playing options, and then maybe someone who (hopefully) like Kovacic who is an elite all-rounder, I think we would have such a stacked midfield. I think 5 players for 2 spots is not at all unreasonable when you are competing for 4 trophies

Vidal going to Inter for 25 mil. I know he's 31 but I would have been happy to have him as our CM for a few years. Cook does feel like our sort of target tho.

They play in different positions so i doubt whether if we got Grealish or not, it'd have influenced this one.
Definitely but for homegrown midfielder options, I’m sure it’s like a puzzle...if we don’t get a homegrown attacking mid, perhaps we shift to focus on getting a center mid and changing strategy around, etc. the iTK have said a lot of moving pieces, I’d assume these would be too.

Witsel linked with Dortmund as well for £18m release clause.

He's a specialist DM so i'd be surprised if we'd be interested in him. There's been no speculation whatsoever about Dier or Wanyama leaving.
