Obviously this is disappointing, but it's pretty clear imo that this window, and this deadline day, is fucked for most clubs. I mean, there's been bugger all happen today league-wide, and the likes of even Pearce from Palace have said how difficult it is to get players out of clubs for even halfway reasonable prices for the lower clubs, let alone clubs like us.

Our activity doesn't exist in a vacuum, it exists relative to how the state of the window is and has been, and it's obvious that if you don't ridiculously overpay for players then you just can't get them because most clubs simply don't need to sell.

We had agreement with Gomes, but did not action, as we had other options. It is upto the player I believe. Don’t bank on it happening. Couple of others being offered to us as we speak. I wouldn’t call them brilliant signings, but more meh. Decent signings (if we progressed). About the price to take such risks. Looking in 15m range for players in mind.

Wow so we’re gonna sign 10 players

No wonder we can't sign anyone when we're now looking at players in the region of £15m - how about we just spend some bloody money on players we actually want for once not players going cheap that we'll struggle to move on next season because they're shit!!!!!

15m? Peter Crouch is 6ft 7in. Not sure what that is in metres.

Bournemouth spent £27m on a player yesterday, Spurs browsing the bargain bin ahead of their new stadium and CL football.

Appreciate the info though. No shooting the messenger here.

Gomes and Mina have reportedly passed their medicals in Barcelona with officials from Everton with them, so it would have to be some hijacking now...

15M... back to our old comfort zone of when we were paying that amount for the likes of Darren Bent and David Bentley
