No wonder we can't sign anyone when we're now looking at players in the region of £15m - how about we just spend some bloody money on players we actually want for once not players going cheap that we'll struggle to move on next season because they're shit!!!!!
I don't want to piss on your rage George, I took it that they are players who could be developed, hence the little bit in brackets on Hercs post, but I feel your angst.

We had agreement with Gomes, but did not action, as we had other options. It is upto the player I believe. Don’t bank on it happening. Couple of others being offered to us as we speak. I wouldn’t call them brilliant signings, but more meh. Decent signings (if we progressed). About the price to take such risks. Looking in 15m range for players in mind.

Ok now this is officially depressing. 15Million range doesn’t exist anymore. Would much rather focus on our own youth than buy ‘meh’ players that we’re struggling to shift in 12 months time.

yep sounds about right! and just what I thought all pre season. absolutely broke, and was only gonna spend big if we shifted Toby for big money, dembele and rose for big money, and lots of little sales of nkoudo, janssen etc allowing us to buy a zaha or pulisic

In fairness, there's a lot of players who are probably available around that price who would represent excellent options. Meh is only meh if not used properly, if used to it's strengths then it can be brilliant.

At this point one can only accept that the window hasn't gone to plan, Levy has got a few things wrong, there's been a bit of bad luck and the market hasn't been favourable to a club who like to behave properly, but we still all hope that we can pull a rabbit out of a hat.

Yes all the other teams have gone about the market like a duck to water but we are the club behaving properly, it's all the others that are wrong.

It's the same old story over and over again mate - they will most likely be crap that agents are desperately trying to find a club, not young promising players - because you don't get them for £15m anymore, but we for some reason struggle to understand that.

Sounds like the 16 year old Irish keeper that we were supposed to sign has signed with City. We can't even sign the guys that none of us cared about.

This window is amazing....

Well yeah most likely, I mean there is a slither of light in there, but it's fine. Have at it.

Time to start looking at it relative to an 11pm deadline. With 4 hours to go we are at 7pm in the evening. Things normally start going mental at 8-9pm, confused by 10pm and die by 11pm. Enjoy the next hour. Your day is about to get a lot more fucked up,

Thanks, @Hercules

Just all smacks of desperation. No way anyone can argue that this is where the club wanted to be at lunchtime on the last day of the window. Not Plan A, Plan B or even Plan C.

Gomes is joining Everton. Having medical at the moment. We still haven’t have no room for non HG players.

Don’t see any of the Llorente/Sissoko/Dembele going either this window.
