Chelsea spent £125m to get Jorginho, downgrade Courtois to Kepa, and get a one-year loan for Kovacic. I have to say if we spent £125m to get rid of Lloris for some second rate keeper, get a one year deal on a Real Madrid bench player, and then pick up Jorginho (who is quality) I would give us an F rating.
They have so much depth in their squad and from their loanees that with the additional window of opportunity to buy from their squad, Willian and Hazard are not yet safe. If someone comes in for Kane we can set the price to £300m and Kane isn't going to complain that with no one to back him up, we have no other options, or that such a price is inappropriate. Chelsea have a laundry list of players that can do the job for Hazard or Willian at an adequate level.
I’m glad we’re finally taking this approach.
All of these teams that have signed overpriced players on huge salaries &a long contracts are really going to struggle shifting them if they flop which the majority of them will do. They'll struggle with their 17 man nonHG quotas for a couple of years and it'll really damage their chances of signing class from abroad in the future when they have half a chance of signing them.
I'd have liked signings but no more Sissokos or Janssens for me. Keep your nucleus and do your best to compete with the likes of Real Madrid &a Barcelona for genuine class.
If we keep hold of certain players with 3 weeks left of the European window, tie Eriksen &a Dele down to new contracts and settle well into our new home then we'd have played a blinder when all of our rivals (financially) have pulled themselves from pillar to post. It's done, 1 or 2 should have come in but they haven't so let's just crack on with knowing we get to enjoy the best Tottenham team in a generation staying together for our first season back at our new, top class looking home
Serious trouble like Chelsea? I'd love to be in serious trouble.Liverpool in a serious trouble to clear out their unwanted players
It is all opinions mate but for me i cant see them as losers here they have done business and if they keep Hazard and Willian i certainly think they will be stronger for it.
I also highly doubt they have anyone knocking around on loan that is anywhere near the standard to be replacing Hazard he is one of the best players on the planet and if they keep him thats a success in itself.
That ignores the debt the club has taken on which is massive.£60m in profit last season.
