he spent a fortune on Lindelof last summer and the only thing of note he did was a crap backpass. Can't argue he hasn't been backed, but he has made bad decisions. If anything, Woodward not going the extra mile in the summer shows they don't have complete faith in Jose anymore. Pressure is on for him to deliver given the 500m or so he has spent and he's not doing it.

Well, if they were willing to sell Martial we probably would've caved in regards to Toby, which would've been a much cheaper option than anyone else out there.

Don't think he'll walk but that applause at the end was his tactic of saying "Go on Woodward, now's your chance to sack me!"

Once he goes, and (inevitably) Benitez walks out from Newcastle, it'll be an end of an era in regards to the old top 4 elite managers

I think the point that Neville was trying to make but didn't want to say is that it wasn't a performance of players against the manager but players that just aren't good enough and he knows there's not a lot they can do about it until next season already. Looked heartbroken bless him :D

Neville will never back down from his opinion that the management isn't to blame for Utd's demise, I think he knows deep down that Jose isn't getting a tune out of the players and the players aren't happy but will never admit it. He's a great pundit/analyst but extremely biased in favour of Utd management.

Word (from a United supporter that i know) is that that whole group of Neville, Scholes etc all hate Woodward for a variety of reasons. So they are all publicly backing Jose in some weird event to get the United supporters to back Jose. I don't know...there was some conspiracy theory that he was talking about, but apparently they all want Woodward out before Jose.

He's a really odd bloke, isn't he? :cautious:

He is an odd guy, no doubt about it.

but he seems to have changed in the past few years as well.

When he was first with Chelsea his players LOVED him and everyone else seemed to hate him, especially the other managers.

Now....his players don't seem to give a shit about him and all the other managers in the league seem to like him as some sort of elder statesman. It's weirdly reversed.

not a surprise....yes Jose has been backed but they have the money to go toe to toe with Pep in the transfer market.
Let's be honest, Toby would be an upgrade for them....and they have the money but Woodward said no. He didn't say that to save the money to improve the stadium etc. he made a footballing decision. Cobblers.
Don't care for Jose but it is ridiculous that Woodward is making calls on players ie keep Martial don't get Toby.

Would you back Maureen’s judgement on defenders when the two CDs he has signed are so poor ? Maureen is on borrowed time IMO and that is why he is not being backed in the Transfer Window.

Great Aretha Franklin tribute by Jose last night. Such a class act, I bet he left on a Midnight Plane to Porto.
