I grew up in Gants Hill and spent a lot of my youth and my 20’s in Ilford.

It was never particularly nice, but on the rare occasions I’ve ventured there since it’s become a right shit hole.

I’ve moved a little away from the area ( but still quite close) and the one place that brings me back there is Valentines Park. I went to secondary school there next to the park, but although it has a sentimental meaning to me I still think from an objective point of view it’s a beautiful park. It’s been cleaned up quite a lot as well in recent years too, must have received some council funds.

You must've gone to Valentines school then. I lived most of my childhood in Gants Hill, lived off the Eastern Avenue, not far from the station. My nan still lives there so go down every now and again. It's changed a hell of a lot. Went to school in Barkingside and that's changed even more. Don't recognise it at all.

I know of a lad from Hackney who was stabbed to death coming out of there one sad night back in the mid 1970's

I was mates with his brother. Pointless waste of life,

How's it changed?

Probably just me looking back with nostalgia, but I missed a lot of the old shops that used to be there. I spent lots of time there, especially as I went to school there, so I knew a lot of people around the area, but don't know anyone there anymore. It's just not a place that holds anything for me anymore. Went for a walk there from my nan's recently and took a walk up the high street to the library and it just didn't feel the same. Just me, I guess.

That moment when you realise that West Ham's state of the art medical facilities have a towel badly taped to the window instead of blinds...

It looks like one of those unlicensed surgeries where you can get an arselift for £95.
I'd be willing to bet that Cresswell has a mould patch in his field of view when that photo was taken.

Bloke on the left - Louis Theroux? Bloke on the right - Robbie Keane? Woman in the middle - an exorcist?

A Louis Theroux show based on West Ham. I can see the look on his face as the Baroness demonstrates the state of the art retractable seats.

It's always gone on Riggs, that lad was about 18 on a night out and never came back. Sad.
