It's such a fine line between winning and losing. Had Sonny's shot when we were leading had behaved like a similar one he had against Everton, we'd been 2-0 up and the rest would have been academic.

Totally agree. We would most likely run out easy winners again. As you say it is a very fine line between success and failure particularly when the players are running on fresh air.

I think he will be trying to get them to win the game again against Cardiff in the first 20/25 minutes while we are fresh and then take it from there.

Having read some of the crazy, ridiculous comments in the match thread and let the dust settle, this is my take:

This Summer we will know exactly where we stand with Levy and Spurs. We have the best manager in our recent history and he will want backing this Summer. If he isn’t, he will obv walk to United.

Therefore does Levy really want us to get to the top with a couple of pacy full backs and a proper central midfielder ?

Or does he want Eddie Howe / Benitez in charge with us in the mix for Top 4-6.

We will know soon enough. Happy new year and may 2019 bring health and happiness to you all.

You’re not factoring in the “excuse” of paying off the new stadium and it’s effect on transfer funds!

(Excuse is quoted because the stadium loan is going to effect the clubs business, of course it will, but it will be the line trotted out when we don’t spend what people hope).

Agreed.

Huh? Dunno what you watched, 4-1 wouldn’t have flattered either team
You think we were well beaten by both teams this year? We looked like gash against City last year, 4-1 and it could have been more. This year not so much.

Why do fans blow things out of proportion. We could have ended up with a 2-2 draw with Liverpool and people would have told us how lucky we were ... It would have been a draw ...

I think we will know next month.

If Poch isn't backed in Jan - and I don't think he will be - he should go to RM or Utd where he will be.

I think the new contract may just be an investment by Levy so we can extract a fee next year when he does go.

The Liverpool game is quite widely accepted as the most one sided 2-1 in recent history. I repeat: no idea what you watched

They had three times as many shots on target as us, as the away side. 2-2?! We scored our only goal in the third minute of injury time. Yes there was a penalty shout but if we’re going on shouldas, Liverpool shoulda been out of sight.

Still waiting for those figures, Dave. Hard to back someone when a club is pocketing all that cash you were on about to back the manager ...

Fucking nostradamus of message boards over here ... :ROFLMAO:

In recent history? L O fucking L

:ROFLMAO:

Could have been 2-2, all that matters is the score though, so we lost.

I do not expect us to spend anything in January, and with Dier, Dembele, Wanyama and Vertonghen all expected to return, and Rose already rehabilitated, we do not need anything in January that we cannot wait until the summer for. Even if we did buy in January I think any new signing would take 2-3 months to acclimatise to Poch's methods anyway.

The fact we were even so close to the top at Xmas was a misnomer.... no home ground, no investment in the summer, 9 players with no pre-season etc. This year was all about trying to stay in the top 4. To have a title push we need to heavily invest in top drawer players to improve us, and the main area we need to invest in is central midfield. Will Levy spend £100M on a top CM in the peak of his career to take us up a level? If I was Poch that is what I would be asking myself before deciding whether to go to ManU or Real Madrid.

We lost a game 2-1 and it could have been 2-2 ... No one is going to remember this game - bar you and some scouscers probably - come february.

You think by trying to tell me it was more one sided than the result suggests (in your ever so humble opinion) changes the fact it was almost a draw and (imho) wasn't as bad as people make out ...

We could be here all day.

Tell you what, go to Rawk, they'll love you.

How many times does Poch need to come out and say that it's unlikely we will do any business in January? , he's said it twice already.

Why has January all of a sudden become a key month when it's rarely been a time we spend money anyway?

Do you want to know the reason we and not many other teams spend in Jan? Because players are fucking expensive and cost far more han they would in the summer.

And what do you mean he should go to Real or Utd if he's not backed?

Why are fans whipping themselves into a frenzy over this next transfer window since the news that Utd will be looking for a new manager? This window has never been the make or break one - some people really need to understand that.

Liverpool should have beaten us 5 or 6 nil at least that day. We'd have got away with a massive robbery if we'd got that Son penalty and drawn 2-2.
But they didn't and it finished 2-1, I sure as hell wasn't as down and the fact you that's how you remember it, good for you, all I remember is we were turned down for a stonewall pen in the last minute ...

You’re a joke mate. Literally shown you the stats what are they, fake news?

One shot on target whole game against City too but keep trying to suggest we deserved anything out of either

If all that will remember is the score, we lost both games too if you noticed. So you’re wrong on basically all fronts
