You may be right, if so what IS ENIC's MO then? Nothing makes any sense!!
Sell for £2bn either to a) somebody who doesn't intend to invest all that much in the team, or b) someone to whom money is no object who has a different motive (e.g. Abrhamiovic wanting fame so he couldn't be disappeared by Putin, or the Sheikhs wanting to rehabilitate their reputation as generous football club owners rather than murderous fascist ****s).

The reality of modern football is that Champions League is where the money is! Top 4 is and must be the continued priority for the club for now and the foreseeable future.

However in a transfer window in which we have been decimated by injuries we have sold a player! Dembele was past his best but surely worth keeping, given the current situation.

I think we are always on the verge of doing something, but a risk needs to be taken if we are to realise the potential of this squad and manager.
Given all you said. What odds do you think we truly have of winning the Champions league or Premier League in the next 5 years? Given we historically don't pay the wages req for world class players. Our academy players will never be world class let's face it. I as a Fan want to see trophies. We can finish top 4 for years but at what point do we say it's just not enough?? I think we're already there with that thinking tbh.

It shouldn't be that I am laughing at our teams performance. The thing is, it was so calamitous, that if I didn't laugh I would have resorted to being annoyed, upset and damn right pissed off moody.

This should never be...but what's a guy supposed to do after witnessing the shite we just served up.

ENIC will sell - that is what they really want out of this.

Its just that when they find a buyer - it will be someone/entity that treats Spurs as an investment - and not a passion. Levy is as close as we will get to a chairman with a genuine passion for the club. It's just that he is also a conservative businessman, with a low risk-tolerance level. So, he will not let the passion over-rule his guiding economic principles.

Obviously, I thought he had a decent game barring missing the penalty, which happens...no worse than any other player out there today.

But then again, you've been banging this drum for a while.
As have you, sir.

Yeah agreed I literally spent the game laughing and taking the piss out of us. Watching it with my family - all Spurs - and we’ve seen enough shit over the decades that we don’t really GaF anymore.

Similar feeling here - deep down it hurt but it was laughably and lamentably a comedy of unforced errors.

Honestly we should have prepared for being without Kane, Dele, Son, Sissoko, Davies, Alderwireld and Eriksen and Dier and Wanyama still not at full match fitness, in our transfer window last summer, how could we not know this would happen?
Christ guys what are you like?
Chris Sutton saying that we should have played Eriksen, that in itself makes me think we shouldn't have, Poch plays and drops players following analysis of all the data from training that is a constant with him because pushing a player beyond the acceptable level will lead that player picking up an injury, it is the way Poch works and quite honestly if it saves Eriksen and Alderwiereld from that fate then I accept it and if it means we have them both back next week and for the CL game against Dortmund I support it.
We were fucked today before we started, it was always going to be tough but we'd have won it with all our players available or even some of the missing ones so I'm as pissed off as anyone else on here but not because we're shit or because nobody cared but because we have been devastated by circumstances.
If Kane, Dele Sissoko and Son were available for this game and Poch hadn't picked them we'd have all been up in arms because we'd have shouted that we couldn't win the game after we'd dropped them but it's like nobody takes that into account on a day like this when they're not available to us, that's just unrealistic.

Look how quickly Liverpool have gone from a 6th place club to competing for title and champions league final. All it takes is some gumption from the owners along with taking calculated risks on who you buy. It's possible we can compete in next 5 years with the foundations we currently have. However it's unlikely the investment will be made to see it come to fruition.

They were lucky to stumble across a decent manager that has worked wonders.
That manager has not been backed to win trophys.
Tbf you have to give Levy credit if he gets a manager choice right as you sure as hell would have blamed him had he got it wrong. What is unfortunate is that our best team has coincided with massive infrastructure change that has hampered us. However, another view is that had we embarked on this at any other point in last 20 years we would have most likely been relegated. Every cloud...

Nope.

Bingo!

I know this is just going over old ground as far as this window is concerned but it's 100% true. Poch is happy with the squad and really hasn't been pushing for incomings. He has his extremely optimistic list and is more than aware they were unlikely to be brought in. The thing with the ITK's on here, and the other forums at least is that it comes from various different sources, some pro Levy, some anti Levy, some that have zero interests in the club what so ever. Believe me we all talk behind the scenes and everyone is hearing pretty much exactly the same thing regarding this, and have been for some time. Some of you can bury your heads in the sand and continue to blame Levy(don't get me wrong he has form) but our lack of transfers both now and in the Summer are not down to him. He's for once doing what we have all been asking for, for the last decade and backing the manager. I know, easier to do when he doesn't have to spend any money, but there is money available should Poch want to bolster the squad.

I'm all for having faith in the youth but lets be honest it would be far easier to blood them with real quality around them, rather than having to chuck them all in together when we are injury plagued, and lacking confidence.

Not sure if this should have gone in here, or if some of it should have been posted at all tbh but I'm sick of hearing "this is all Levy's fault" and "poor old Poch having to work on a shoestring" when as things stand it couldn't be further from the truth.
I'm not sure what you've heard but if you really think about it; can you blame Poch for not wanting to add players if what he's being offered are championship players, Nkoudous, N'jies and the likes? He's seen how this type of dross basically only ruins for the club, taking up wages and squad spot while basically adding nothing.
