Thanks for that, Bobbins; but I guess I didn't communicate the extent of my ignorance. I must concede that I don't know how many season tickets were sold at the old Lane, either. So I guess I've asked the wrong question.

The upshot is: how many more tickets at the new stadium will be going on sale to non-season-ticket holding members then did so at the old one?

Sorry. I not the articulatest.

Old WHL used to have around 11,000 tickets for non-season ticket holders. New WHL will have around 18,000.

The only problem may be new stadium fever where all fans will want to experience it ASAP. With only a few home games left the initial demand may be huge.

NWHL won't have anything like that. My understanding is that for league games (cup games visitors will be allowed more fans) there are 42K season tickets 9K premium members and 3K away fans leaving approximately 8k for members.

This is correct although I think premium maybe 8k but basically will be 8-9k for members.

Are we calling Hotspur + membership "premium" members? Or is "premium" something else.?

They mean Corporate season ticket holders @ circa 8-9k on top of the 42k GA season ticket holders. So 42k, plus 9k, plus 3k away = approx 8k to members

8k isn't enough but if levy or any chairman could they would have 90% of their capacity pre paid

Yesterday's article in the Daily Mail claims that the opening date will be revealed within next week. They mention March/April as possibilities.

I’m hoping Palace lose in the FA Cup so we can get back home in March!

I'm an American fan who's been going over since the mid-90s and have been a member for most of those. As such, I am quite familiar with the dynamics of securing a ticket for tough matches, i.e., NLDs and top CL fixtures, at the old Lane - which where I'm from has meant being up at 4:30am, online and/or phone-in-hand, and ready to go. It was a less-than-thought-through presumption that come the new stadium, getting a ticket for top fixtures would, if anything, be a bit easier. But now that I think about it, I'm presuming that they've upped the number of season tickets considerably, and I have no idea the extent to which the number of tickets going onsale to members will increase - if at all.
Months ago I purchased airfare to be over during the Huddersfield game (and potentially a CL quarterfineal - fingers crossed) in April. Now it appears possible that this could be among the first games at the new Lane and I'm mortified by the prospect of being over, and unable to secure a ticket. Does anyone know how the numbers break down? How many season tickets have been sold, and how many will remain for members?

Apologies if this has been address (and I'm sure it as) earlier in the thread, and thanks in advance.
As long as you're Hotspur + and get online 30mins before sale date you should stand a chance I would think.

Yeah, I've never missed out doing just that - though I've been quite close.

I have to say, I'm a bit disappointed in there being no more tickets available for standard members than before. Not so much for folks like myself - I only get over once or twice a year, at best - but given the way the game (not just Spurs) has kept out so many younger and less-well-off fans over the last 15-20 years, one would've hoped the addition of 26k seats would've alleviated that at least a bit.

sorry, I'm sure this is stuff folks have gone over long ago, and I've no wish to derail what we all hope will be an upcoming euphoria. I know it's not gonna happen until it happens … but I've not been able to stop myself a little optimism this week.

c'mon, c'mon, c'mon …

To be fair, that is a great business model.

it gets worse than that over here. a not uncommon business model over here for professional sport (primarily baseball) when building a new stadium is to build it with less capacity than anticipated anticipated gameday demand. the theory is that if scarcity is built in - the likelihood that one might not be able to get a ticket when he (or more likely the company's community relations manager) needs one - it will drive season ticket sales. which it does. but the result is often empty (but paid for!) seats while folks wanting in are out of luck.

it's infuriating. but the bean-counters have done their maths, and it's more lucrative - so decision made, then, eh?

seriously, though - enough of this. back to the new stadium. my current giddy-level is registering at 8.2. the instant the announcement comes, the meter will be pegged.

It's also reasonable to assume that many of those members you were competing with to get a ticket at the old ground will now be season ticket holders so even if turns out there are fewer tickets available to members there will likely be fewer members trying to buy them.

To save me trawling through the thread, do we have any idea as to what next week's statement on the new stadium will say?

I'm still betting it has the words 'next season' in it.

I don't see why we're assuming there'll be a statement next week in the first place.

Refund for gooners game, test events maybe.
As Palace are still in the cup not sure they can plan ahead for that one yet, and ditto the Brighton game. So maybe not much will be announced?
Is that helpful??

Plus after a full season at the new ground, attendances are likely to reduce, especially in the winter months and against the smaller teams. City and the goons regularly struggle to fill 50k + stadiums.

Well, I can't speak for anyone else but I read somewhere that a statement was due this week, then the commentator for today's game said a statement was going to be made this week, so I put two and two together and kind of assumed that's what was happening.
