Still bugs me to this day that freund is a hall of famer. You don’t remember people like stephen fruend or Korsten do you?
Hopefully just a precaution for Dortmund on WedBack spasm. Muscle pull can heal in just a few days when rested, but most muscle strains may take four to six weeks to heal, and a very severe muscle pull could take up to ten weeks.

Eriksen on the left, Son the right. Fullbacks pushing up to give width when those two tuck in? Could work well.
Diamond like most of this season I should think. Skipp or Winks at the base, the other with Sissoko in front and then Eriksen at no.10. Son buzzing around Llorente. Are we going 4-3-3?
He was a decent defensive midfielder. Fans tend not to like DMs because they don't understand their role. It is why the only DMs that are generally rated are ones who run 30 yards to make a big crunching tackle (even though a good DM will rarely do that because a good DM wouldn't let a situation where they'd be 30 yards out of position happen anyway).
Freund was excellent at supporting the play when the team was in position and very good at shielding the back four. The most entertaining football I've seen Spurs play in the Premier League era was for a few months during the 01/02 season. Freund's presence was integral to that. It is no coincidence that it all went to pieces when Freund picked up a long term injury.
I'm not saying Freund was a great defensive midfielder, but he certainly wasn't a bad one or a bad player. For example a peak Freund was superior to a peak Wanyama or Dier.
