I found him extremely frustrating today. And I've been banging on about playing him over Trippier.
But at least Tripper offers a lot more going forward, even though he's a liability defensively against any pacey attack.
Aurier is the more robust defender but he didn't even get the basics right in that respect today, and it was his silly clearance that led to their second goal.
He was also played in, by Son I think, into a fabulous position with two or three in great positions in the box, basically any half decent ball probably results in a goal and he made an absolute mess of it.
Yes we lost, and it was really frustrating and it's easy to target some players... Hindsight is great etc... But you can't help but feel Tripper and Sanchez in that starting eleven would of made a significant difference today.
In fact this was a game for Trippier as Burnley are certainly not a lively attacking force.
Pissed me off so much that, I was screaming "pass it!" at the TV and he just kept on running. Some of his play really does just lack intelligence. Trippier can be a liability defending sometimes, but at least he more often than not does the right thing with the ball at his feet.
