I reckon we could quite easily get stuffed on Saturday - I won't be happy but I won't be outright distraught as it is the last PL biggie we have to play.

One way or the other the business end of the season is in play now. The team won't be demoralised by a loss
against City in the PL and it shouldn't affect the remaining games (I hope)

Let's see what Poch has up his sleeve. Anyway he should be able to fire them up for another epic effort.

just 3 games left to win the CL repeat that
Actually if you really think about it Win esp with a clean sheet, at home vs Ajax and a draw at their gaffe sees us through to a final which we would have to win...imagine we beat the scouse in a final (on pens) Its all just a dream right?

I think we are nailed on to lose at the weekend now. Them keen to bounce back, us mentally exhausted after such a huge result (and down to the bare bones). Key will be keeping the score down for GD purposes.

One tiny positive is that we have no need to rest Son for the first leg (as he's suspended), so no need to rest him against Brighton or West Ham. Hopefully he keeps his record up of when Kane is out. Ajax won't know what's hit them in Amsterdam when he rocks up hopefully. 9/10 should still be enough. Big break (3 weeks) after the final game before the CL final so no need to rotate vs Everton if we get there. Let's get top 4 and win the CL!

Sorry this has no doubt been discussed but if we end up 4th and not winning the CL (typing that bit is surreal) and one of those other London clubs wins the EL and finishes outside top 4 do we face losing the CL space the following season?

It has and the answer is no.

The only way fourth loses out is if both the CL and EL are won by teams outside the top 4.

Really don’t have a clue how either side will react to last night and how it will affect the game on Saturday.......pumped up, determined, drained, elation, on a high. Could be any and all of those things. I’m just a spectator and for all my elation it feels like I’ve been kicked in the gut.....no energy at all this morning. Cannot fathom how the players from either side are feeling this morning.

I will vomit ? if Liverpool win the league but needs must...........COYS

Whatever emotions either side will be feeling, the legs will be heavy. Suspect Pep will make sweeping changes to freshen it up. We’ll...we’ll just bring Davies and maybe KWP in.

This defeat (in the tie), would have knocked City for sure. Mentally they should be so down coming to the training. Its never easy these defeats. As for us, we should be bouncing.
We could certainly get a draw this weekend let alone a shock win

Are you mad?
Given the problems we have, I'd happily take a 1-0 defeat now, against the reserves.

I’d fancy Sanchez to start.

It’s going to be a really tough game with our injuries and the quality of their squad players.

There will be more pressure on them now, so hopefully that might help, but I’m not expecting much!

Personally, I can't see us making top 4 now but have come round to the view that, even if we exit at SF, it has probably been a bigger boost to the club/team as a whole to have reached this stage and is what the squad and management team would have most wanted. In the cold light of day, missing out will be worse for all the reasons we know but 'To dare is to do' and all that.

City will win this weekend, the whole entire narrative has changed since last night, they will put all their focus in this match cause they'll be desperate to win it, we'll still be riding the emotion of last night and have a load of injuries. Get through this match without a thrashing and focus on Brighton on Tuesday.

I don't understand....why is that thinking City would be absolutely devastated after CL loss is beyond reason ?
Games comes so close to each other. So, IMO, anything can happen especially if we score a early goal.

I dont see anything over than a city win, we’ll probably change a few players and they’ll want revenge it’s not like we went there dismantled them 0-3 they did beat us yesterday

I wouldn’t be surprised or very disappointed if we lose on Saturday but if we do lose, I hope it’s not by more than two goals as GD might be an important factor at season end in our quest on qualifying for next season’s CL (that’s only if we don’t win this year’s CL though ?)

And we’ve probably lost sissoko and might have to play a not match fit Dier if he’s recovered from his injury. I can’t see Wanyama being able to play a third game in a week. Hopefully winksy is back, if not it could be Dele and Skipp in central midfield.
