If you wanna have a go, you should be looking at Poch first. But he is even more untouchable. Either play Alli in his proper position or don’t play him at all. Playing him out of position is just hurting everyone involved.

Err yeah pretty sure injuries and lack of squad depth has forced his hand, hardly the managers fault.

Err yeah thanks, capt obtuse. We don’t only have 11 players fit. You’re better off playing a proper CM even if it’s Skipp, or putting Rose there, than having Dele drop off there to the detriment of the team. He is not “forced” to play Dele there at all.

You advocating playing a Left back in midfield or an academy player clearly not ready for the rigours of top flight foobtall in there over an established player says everything about your argument, not mine.

And Dele is a CMF, that's the position he's learnt by trade at MK Dons and a position where his club and country managers see fit to play him, just because he's excelled as a support striker doesn't mean he cannot play in CMF, if you'd been paying attention to his career you'd have know that.

No I wouldn’t actually. But Poch has played Rose there with limited success, but to better effect than Dele in that area of the pitch. The examples I gave are extreme on purpose, to illustrate that even though they’re not ideal in the least either, they serve us better than playing Dele there.

CMF lol. This isn’t Football Manager. If you think Dele has excelled dropping deep this season, you’re on another planet.

He didn't say he excelled dropping deep, he said he excelled playing support striker. He's done an adequate job playing in central midfield, Rose was poor there against Arsenal and we lost all momentum.

True, misread that. However the point stands, Poch is not forced to play Dele deeper. Not at all.

Well no he isn't forced but I don't think any other option we have had recently has been good, Skipp has not looked good enough and his games have been against Burnley and Leicester and Rose had a mare vs Arsenal. The alternative would be Eriksen but defensively he is woeful in terms of putting in the tackles. Dele is by far the safest option but now we have Wanyama, Dier and Sissoko all (relatively) fit it should be the end of this.

The fact that Poch switched it up in the first half against Ajax shows that even he recognised 1 CM + Eriksen and Dele wasn’t working. It doesn’t work. Yes, starting Skipp in that game alongside Wanyama would’ve worked miles better than what we started with.

We could’ve gone 4 at the back, put Skipp and Wanyama in the middle and push Dele forward where he excels. But don’t tell me he is forced drop Dele deep. Especially after it’s proven not to work.

I mean you've just quoted me saying no he isn't forced and then proceeded to say but don't tell me he is forced. I think it's pretty hypothetical to say Wanyama/Skipp would've worked miles better because we improved based on sissoko physicality.

The original comment was that he’s forced to play him there, but that wasn’t you, granted. ;)

When?

Also I can't have a debate with you if you fail to simple English, I never said anything about him excelling when he dropped deep...?

??No it wasn't I said injuries have forced his hand...Pleaae go and learn what an idiom is before you comment.

Never fail with the self own, do you.

Typo...now debate away...When has Rose ever been better than Dele at CM?...I'll wait.

*Hopefully there's no typos or errors present in this post that distracts your juvenile mind from dodging the question again.

You’re beginning to tangle yourself up in semantic knots. Yes, you’re saying his hand has been forced into playing him there. Whether through injury or otherwise, he’s not forced to. Unless you’re implying we only have 11 fit players.

Anyone who doesn’t lose the ball all the time or stifle transitional play is better than Dele has been at CM. Play him in his proper position and watch him flourish, don’t shoehorn him into a deeper role he has failed at constantly this year.

You’re the one who brought English comprehension into this. Don't pull someone up on their English and make a muppet of yourself with a mistake in the same sentence.

Is this now a private thread or can anyone join in ?
Please join in, I’m getting bored going around in circles here.

I hope we win today and secure top 4. Then we can put this Dele experiment to bed once and for all with CM reinforcements in the summer.

Never once ever contemplated a single word against Dele. But wow. He’s had such a consistently poor season. To me it’s attitude. And his attitude is way off.
