He does leave the door open that he will sign a new contract. He says that if he does go it will be up. But his desire is to leave and he just wants it sorted quickly.

I hope he does leave now, it will be better for us.

Don't want him signing a new deal in a deflated sort of way. It's obvious he wants to go so hopefully it's sorted out and we get who we want in.

As much as I like him as an individual and enjoy his eye for a pass, I won't be too sorry to see him go. With every passing season the PL gets faster and more physical, and that's just not Eriksen's thing. These days he rarely tackles, he shirks 50-50s, and offers very little protection across the edge of our box. Opponents get past him with ease these days. The PL demands more.

Unlike Bale and Modric I won't be devastated if he leaves. They had their best seasons before they left, and the holes the left in the squad were huge.

Eriksen is a fantastic player, and by far our most creative. However whether it's through a new signing or change of formation I honestly don't think we'll be much worse without him. I'd love him to sign on and finish his career here, but if he goes so be it.

Given Eriksen's age and nationality, I imagine he grew up idolising the Laudrups - especially Michael Laudrup. Playing for Real Madrid or Barcelona must have a special attraction for him, if that's the case.

love the guy, as he said if its a step up will go but stay if not, so cant really complain with that, if he does go this summer only wish it could have been with a CL winners medal.

I just can't see many of the big clubs in Europe being able to pay us what we would want for him.

Real Madrid - they could normally afford him no problem, but will most likely be signing Hazard. Unless there's a deal to be done including Bale or Isco etc then not sure if they'll pay out £100m plus for Eriksen after the current spending spree they're on.

Barcelona - if they move Coutinho on this summer, then I could possibly see them bringing Eriksen in but I don't think they actually need him.

Juventus - possible, could see him playing there but not sure they'll be able to spend big on him. Spent big on Ronaldo last season and don't think they could afford to do it again so soon.

Bayern Munich - with James Rodriguez not signing permanently there's a space for Eriksen there, but again would they be able to spend big on him? They're trying to sign Sane from City and already looks like they might get priced out of that at around £80m.

Then that leaves the wildcard option of Man City or Liverpool coming in for him - both could afford him but no way would we sell him to another club in England.

No excuses now, a top notch replacement please, hasn't got to be like for like, but a statement signing.

His mind has been elsewhere for sometime. On his day a fantastic player, but not in the class of a Modric. Hopefully he can be sold quickly.

News coming out now that Eriksen told Poch he wanted to leave TEN DAYS before the biggest game in his and our history.

That's absolutely disgusting if true.

I'm not so sure it's that bad of a thing to do if that's true. To be fair Poch himself hinted publicly at leaving in the build up to the game (if we had won).

I know it's cynical but I've thought for a while that he's already made an agreement with another club and they've told him to not take any risks for the rest of the season, because that's how it's seemed like he's been playing.

Not sure I’d go that far, but it’s not exactly the best timing..... and unlike Hazard who actually influenced his last game and massively contributed to them winning a trophy, Eriksen just didn’t turn up.

Don't you think you're blowing this out of proportion? Come on, we've known that Eriksen has dreamt of a Real Madrid move for a long time, this news didn't surface out of the blue 10 days ago. He's been a very loyal servant of the club, always worked hard for the team, and now it's time for a new challenge. He's maintained full respect for Spurs and Poch wouldn't have played Eriksen in the final if he thought that he wasn't 100% committed to the game.

If he is going to go then we need to get this sorted ASAP Madrid do not seem to be holding back with Signings so just get it sorted quickly and do not let it run throughout the whole summer!!

I have loved him but this season something felt different. His body language, work rate. Just didn't seem right, don't remember the last time he went in for a tackle. We will lose a lot of creativity but I think we can bring in someone to replace that, I also think it will allow us to play a different system.

I just hope its abroad, don't want to see him at City or Liverpool. We need to bring in a player who can beat the first man at corners.

Doesn’t matter how long we’ve known about it.

If you’re in a relationship but you start to get a bit flirty with someone else, you wouldn’t suddenly dump your partner a few days before their big birthday party, do you?

Not only that but we don't even know if that's true. My guess would be that he told Pochettino long before that, if his form is anything to go by but I guess there's really no point in trying to guess.
