Again, unlikely unless he goes on a free next summer as anyone that signs him this window is going to have to pay £25m to get him off us.Because he’ll get a signing on fee the size of a euro millions jackpot

Trouble is although we are being linked to these signings as every year but I still expect to see us end up with plan B or C, that appearance was probably our once in a lifetime moment similar to the gooners when they got there for the only time. Not if Baldy goes berserk and buys Lo Celso, NDombele, the Sesses, a CB and somehow pulls Bale out of his sleeve, we'll win it next year.
Agreed on all bar Sanchez. Our defensive record with him in it has gone back 5 years. He gifts a chance a game.Arsenal apparently have a £40m transfer kitty. That just about buys them a Ramsey replacement. Chelsea have got a transfer ban and are going to lose their best player and their manager. United look a mess.
We have got a bit of rebuilding to do ourselves, but Trippier can be upgraded on without spending too much. Toby will be hard to replace, but I'm sure there are options available and Sanchez has already stepped in to prove he can be relied upon. If we can get the two big signings across the line we'll be in a great place to push on.

Those of us who live in reality can only go on what’s actually happened in terms of recruitment, what Levy’s said, what Poch ha said, and make reasonable assumptions.
Who cares about rival fans this is about us. We need to win something to know what it is to win so we can win bigger things. It's quite obvious mentally we aren't quite there, you can get top four and win stuff
Three transfer windows is going to take a bit of time and the others will push on as well pity then that we didn't spend in the last two otherwise we would be closer now.
But before he did that, they'd won an FA Cup and a Cup Winners Cup on the way. He built that winning mentality into them first. Its why, for all the love I hold for the man, I'm disappointed when he doesn't take cup competitions as seriously.
Unusual long "rant" from you and you are touching upon many important but different aspects at once. One thing I disagree with though is the captaincy. I don't believe in stripping captaincies just for the sake of it, unless the player in question really has gravely misbehaved. But I do think Pochettino needs to freshen up a bit (mentally recharge, not appearance wise) and I wonder if he can manage to reach that next level in his ability within his current job. For one he loves his favourite players, and it is a hindrance at times.
I think moving forward we need:
In
RB, CM, AM, WF, ST
Get rid of the deadwood, easier said than done and it rarely happens but you never know.
Then I think we need to adjust our style a bit, the passing game is nice and i'm sure we'd love to score the perfect goal building from the back. We just don't seem to do it that well and although we control the possession we don't always look a threat. And that goes beyond Saturdays game.
Onto next season and we need to start aiming for trophies, and i'm including the league/fa cup in that. I know Poch wants the big prizes but he needs to taste winning something with us. Would be a crying shame if at the end of all his good work he didn't even have one winners medal to show for it.

I like it a lot but not sure about Dier. In my personal opinion he has had far too many injuries and probably should be moved on.

Dier had 1 injury which he picked up playing for England, he had 2 illnesses that both are draining and lengthy in appendicitis (6 weeks minimum) and tonsillitis which is something that can just re-occur at the switch unless you have them removed, and they only remove them if it does keep re-occurring (though they never with me)
What we need now is a midfield maestro like Pirlo / Modric who can take on players and makes intelligent foward pass.
Our current crop of midfielders all have the same characteristic, strong and discipline but cant dribble or take on players, therefore they are static as f, and thats why we see lots of side n back passes. Theres no drive in midfield. I think this is why Poch wanted Isco. As things stand, we need to ship Eriksen out and get someone in asap.
Not sure why you are singling me out for when I post and do not post surely that is down to me isn't it? That downtime between Ajax and the final there wasn't much happening so not much to comment on.well start blaming Poch for not buying player he didn't want, the players he wanted where either unavailable, or didn't want to come.
yes Levy fucked up with Grealish, but no 1 knows if Grealish was a top target at the time, and 99% of the people on here said paying 25m was too much.
was it your mate that said Levy tried to involve Onamah in the deal? well the reason Levy offered that was because of the size of our squad, Villa taking Onamah meant we wasn't that 1 extra hungry mouth to feed, and instead of selling we sent out on loan.
weird thing is the majority of time between beating Ajax and the final, there wasn't too many moaning threads, and you definitely wasn't posting as much. I just hope these rumours of Ndombele and Lo Celso are true because we don't spend money do we. what I don't understand for a team that doesn't spend is when we sold Bale we spent most of it. if our owners don't spending why buy 8 players to replace 1, when at the time we only needed 2 or 3 in. they spent a fortune the season we nearly went down, but of course we don't spend.
we played a total of 59 games last season, while crippled with injuries, the most we could of played was 65 barring replays in the FA Cup. Liverpool played 52 and hardly suffered any real injuries all season
