There is a thread on FTL talking about quite a lot of trouble after the match. City fans waiting outside (Maybe that's what he means by Grey Mar Lane?), Police unprepared, City fans attacking men, women and children.
One post:
They were there but they were massively caught by surprise by the numbers city had and the fact that they were really wanting to attack us. As we came out of the away end we were pretty much ambushed. As we walked further along the road the situation got worse as the city fans were trying hard to break through the police. We were in-between a them and a fence and had they broke through we were in the shit to be honest. We managed to get out of the bottle neck eventually but the atmosphere was really toxic everywhere.
Back in the station it all kicked off again.
City fans were scum, they were targeting anything they could get to and it didn't matter if you had no interest in fighting them or not.
I think our fans will remember today when they come to WHL.
Tool my lad to his first Spurs game yesterday - he's 7. Couldn't get in the away end so got 2 gen sale tickets together in the city end.
My observations:
Their fans absolutely hate us. The amount of venom from them about us being a little club who've never won anything was astounding. The fact that the only reason they are where they are is because of corrupt massive investment they totally ignore.
They hate Harry Kane. The amount of people calling him a spastic, mong etc was disgusting.
They think they're owed something. Now I hate Liverpool, but seriously after sitting in their end yesterday I hate city more. Plus their fans are awful in terms of atmosphere.
That said they were all saying how good they thought KWP played and what a great future he has.
When they scored at the end we went so we could get back to the station. Heard shit loads of sirens so guessed it was kicking off. Didn't realise it had been ruled out because of VAR until I checked on the train!
Really glad we left just before the end and my lad didn't have to see any violence though.
All in all a really huge point for us.
