We're bad, almost as bad as Australia, except they have a couple of batsmen who can you know, actually bat. If we had a couple of batsmen who were just as consistent we'd be in with a chance.

As long as the old boys club remains this is what we'll get, and the Lions team is a pointless waste of time.

Sadly there is no 'old boys club' per se. We just haven't got any test players left in our ranks. Root was but he is drowning under the captaincy. All the rest are predominantly plainly white cricketers like Roy & Co.

Play and miss a lot with a shit eating grin on their face? I agree. Time for one of them to kiss the ring of the devil and sell their soul, that or pray that one of the aussie bowlers decides to throw in 7 - 11 overs of dross that Stokes and Wokes did yesterday. :playful:

So the Lions team is pointless and there is an old boys club - they just keep calling up Surrey players or from the other larger team ilk.

Hain, Sibley and the like continue to get over looked.

But would you want to take the risk that the captaincy does to Stokes what it's done to Root? Buttler is the one tipped for the role isn't he? Understands field placings with intelligence and bats low enough down the order etc.
