Well Boatang, bent and defoe is very different. Perhaps this could be a make or break game for these guys and he's telling them this is there chance to go out and prove themselves.

Honestly I don't think Defoe has much of a future but Bent really has a lot to prove. If these players have a good game it could boost their confidence and we really need those 3 to come in and show their worth, the front two have been underperforming for sure.

I did say at the start of the season that we should play Bent/JD for cup games with Berbs/Keano on the bench

Yeah it'll be good to have a closer look at Boateng. Very dissapointed about Keane not starting though.

you'd have to say that not playing Robbie "24 goals in 31 games" Keane is a slightly unusual move... oh well... fingers crossed

Ceuta, where Nayim seems to have been born, is a Spanish enclave in North Africa, totally surrounded by Morocco, much like Hong Kong and China.

So, in a way, he's both Spanish & Moroccan! You're both right.

Wow, the lineup has me licking my chops for the first time in a while. Should be fun...

looks like a good team... not too happy bout zokora being on the bench because i dont think he should be near the squad but at least juande is giving the players a chance to prove themselves

its bloody attacking as well, which suggests he's opting for the score more than the other lot approach... which is kind of fair enough given our defence

I expect both Keane and Berbatov to be back in the team on Thursday, Ramos realises it is our best chance of European football next year

so what does that say about Keane being droped too?

I don't think it's a case of Berba and Keano being dropped. More Ramos wanting to take a look at all of our strikers in match action, and giving Defoe and Bent a chance to impress him. Plus he can always bring Berba and Keano on in the second half - I can't imagine a tired Boro defence would fancy that coming at them.

I'm more intrigued by the combination of Boateng and Jenas in midfield. Neither is a natural holding CM, so I imagine both will have been told to compete for every ball and restrict the number of their forward runs. An interesting and bold choice from Juande though.
