With regard to Jose and man unt I believe it went wrong because of Pogba's influence on the other players at the club and the board decided in their wisdom to side with player power incidently if Man City were punished for FFP infringements as they should have been Unt would have won the league also . Jose also had the player power thing to contend with and the leader of the disruption is now at Real namely Hazard . The thing about this defensive football is that he plays that way against teams he sees as a danger .
Fergie also very often played pragmatic even sometimes against us I can recall more than a few games where the game ended where we played all the football and came off the pitch losing its called " winning mentality "
I am convinced that if a few of our players played up and went to Levy then I am sure Levy would back the manager and not the restless players .

I would love to hear what José has to say about his subs...would be interesting to see how he thinks
Less about the subs themselves, but on Winks apparently Jose tells subs on cold nights to get a shower instead of hanging about on the bench. TBH, this is something I've long thought sensible, if true.

Those subs are just a little insight into why Mourinho is who he is - and how it proves that he hasn't changed.

He gets the best out of teams in the first 24 months, thereafter all the cracks in his man-management really start to appear.

Any chance of Bale, Winks, Vinicius or Alli feeling good about tonight have disappeared. Say what you want but we will need those players at some point this season. And instead, Jose decides to put more minutes into Kane, Son and Sissoko. Makes zero sense whatsoever.

I sure hope we win something this season because I really don't feel confident about Mourinho actually building a squad for the long-term. He will leave us in tatters at the end of the day. He's a selfish prick - always has been, always will be. I'll support him because he's Tottenham's manager but I don't feel good about it.

Couple of things there for me.

So the players you've mentioned won't feel good about topping the group? You need to understand that we're a squad.

You say you're not confident Mourinho can build a squad? Tell you what, in just over 12 months in charge id say his squad building has been absolute quality. Not just the top quality bought in, but the ones shipped out too (bar skipp, id have liked him to play instead of Winks if I'm honest)

You say you 'don't feel good about it', referring Mourinho.
How do you feel about us being top of the league then?
How do you feel about Son and Kane having the best partnership in Europe? (its not luck)
How do you feel that suddenly we can attract proper big names? (Bale).
How do you feel that Hojbjerg looks unreal in midfield?
How do you feel that suddenly Dier has become irreplaceable at CB?

Sometimes I can't believe what I read on here.

Top of the league but you don't feel good?! Come on man

Hoddle is so disappointing as a pundit. Is he talking about Mourinho sarcastically pissing himself at that pass back to the keeper against Arsenal?

No he doesn’t have any assists

And this fitness excuse is getting ridiculous now, he’s been here since September and has played 9 games. This is who he is as a player stop blaming it on fitness. And it’s hard to improve your fitness if all you do on the pitch is walk around and jog a little

My mistake. Who took the free kick that lead to the goal tonight? Or is that just a direct contribution to a goal?

He's played so few goals because of his lack of fitness :). We also signed Alex Morgan for the ladies team at the same time, she's also taken time to get back to her best. Do we get rid of her now as well?

Also I find the comments about Dele and Winks having a fuss a little rich considering that Jose would have planned the match out in advance. I'm sure he told Bale/Vinicius/Winks that there was a possibility of bringing the first team players on if we need a goal in the 2nd half. It's not like he would lie to them.

The way to change the dreaded “Spursy” tag we hear about so often is to change the mentality of the club. Too many games to remember over the years that we played great in but came away with nothing . Jose‘s style aint for everyone but he knows how to win that for sure.

Still strange to see him in the dugout as I have never liked him but it’s about the club for me and not one individual, really it is that simple. He is getting results and trying to change the clubs mentality and so far so good.

He does have an assist, in the game v Ludogorets he played it across goal towards Vinnie and the defender knocked it in for an own goal. That is an assist.

It doesn’t count as a assist. And the lack of fitness is just a shit excuse

And what does Alex Morgan has to do with this? And she actually lacked fitness unlike Bale lol

I actually like the changes made where many feel we should cotton wrap Kane and Son.

This isnt one of the games i feel we are looking extremely rock solid especially with Hart in goal, all we need is a long range out of nowhere to make it 1-1. With the strength of seeded teams, it's definately smarter to top the group.

Plus as someone said earlier, they are footballers. 30min should keep them sharp. Injuries can happen anywhere.

I trust Jose.

Re Bale, he still has the quality. I’m not yet convinced he has the desire to push himself hard enough to get back into the starting 11. It’s going to require a huge effort from him if we are challenging.

So your basically going to be a pedant and ignore his contribution to the goal because it doesn't fit your definition of an assist. I'm done here.

I think we should all chip in a couple of quid and get @mquinn73 some of these for whenever he’s reminded of the terrible state the clubs in under Jose.

Watching him, he looks like he still doesnt fully trust his body yet. The signs are there, but he just doesnt look fully confident in himself yet

Whatever. Not surprised how many on here are so quick to jump on the players and blame them, yet support Mourinho regardless.

I'll guarantee that those will be the same people who will be first to dance on Mourinho's grave as soon as things start to go sour.

I support the club first and foremost. And by extension, those that wear the shirt. However, I reserve the right not to be a fan of Mourinho. Hated him when he was at Chelsea. Still think he's a prick. And still expect that things will end in tatters here too. I think we'll regret how he has mismanaged the likes of Winks, Alli and Bale.

Of course, those trashing Alli, Winks, Bale, Sanchez, even Moura (!!) now and backing Mourinho are typically fickle of this forum. I was at the Lane enough times when Bale won games singlehandedly to always support him. Same with Dele. Lucas Moura owes this club nothing after that night in Amsterdam. Winks has been Spurs for all his life. Yet plenty of keyboard warriors on here that will happily throw them all to the dogs just because Jose offers the potential of some silverware.

Sure, maybe he'll win the League Cup or Europa League, and that will be a price that some will accept.

Unfortunately, I've supported this club for too long to just fall for the latest shiny new thing. I know that I'm not the only one.

You complain about people being keyboard warriors and trashing our players. Yet you too are acting the keyboard warrior and trashing our manager. Why is that any better?

This isn’t a zero sum game. With regard to support for our manager and players, this is not an either or situation. It’s both and. No need to trash the players. No need to trash the manager.

We’re top of the league; winning big games; keeping clean sheets. Why on earth are we even talking about trashing anyone at our club right now?

I don’t enjoy the football we play. Surely that’s important?
