It really does say a lot about the quality of our last transfer window that we’re able to rest Bale, Vinicius, Lo Celso, Lucas, Davies, Doherty while still fielding a full-strength team a few days before we play Liverpool

I do not think he is resting them for Liverpool though. I would be surprised if the same XI do not start on Weds, maybe Moura in for Bergwijn to help defend Mane.

Moussa has been amazing recently, but this is the type of game I’d love to see GLC in alongside Holjberg as an 8.

Another war of attrition incoming I suspect.

Every one is jumping to conclusions on Bale and Vinny, am sure at least one of them has an injury. Don’t think Jose would want a bench without a striker for no reason

I think Lo Celso will start vs Liverpool and makes sense to have only one of him or Ndombele so that Sissoko can help deal with Eze/Zaha

He was shit the other night mate. He needs to up his game.
Not saying he wasn't but was Lucas any better? I think with Bale it's time to try him in the PL and if he still doesn't perform then fair enough, leave him out. He isn't going to get match sharp by missing games that's for sure.

Today is the last “test” I’m waiting to see this team pass. I have no concerns of winning against top half teams but outside the Arsenal game we have struggled against the few lower table teams we have played. Draw against Newcastle (which was bullshit) then barely beating Brighton, Burnley and West Brom.

I expect today to be difficult because Palace are not bad but I’d love for us to put 3 or 4 past them and go into Liverpool flying high.

Think its for rotations sake.. we have pool and Leicester coming up.. fingers crossed we get the early lead or 2 then sit back and conserve energy
Exactly. People are reading too much into this. Just recently people were saying that Dele had played his last game for us because he was not in the squad.

All 3 were rubbish the other night, the difference in levels when they were substituted was massive.

I'll be honest, Dele's football can infuriate me but based off what we've seen so far Bale would only get ahead of him on the bench in the sheer hope of him suddenly performing a little. Never thought I'd say it but not actually mad at Dele taking Bale's place on the bench but of course we don't know the actual reasoning yet.

Can't wait for Lamela to return.

This isn't going to be a classic and can see a very similar match to the last game last season.

Mate difficult to comprehend someone's loss, but just recently I thought I was going to experience the same as my dad is 87 and now struggling.
I am desperate to win the league this year whilst I still have him, the sands of time run out for all of us eventually and I hope that I don't suffer a premature loss like yourself.
I wish you and your family all the best and condolences as well.
Touched...
Thanks so much.
Your dad in my prayers mate.

It's not, the goalposts will get moved again if we win.

Having Gio ready to come off the bench and maintain the quality when NDombele runs out of puff on the 60 minute mark will be vital.

In an age of playing squads where we don't have first teams and second elevens, that is definitely our first team.

My dad passed away this morning.
He was an Ipswich Town supoirter but always had a soft spot for Spurs. We lived 10years of our lives in Bruce Grove.
He wanted us to win the league this season...
I hope we win today for a special man with a great heart.

My condolences to you and family, Ack. I lost my dad 5 years ago now but it feels as if it was just yesterday. Be strong and yeah, hopefully the team wins today as a fitting tribute for your loss. COYS

Bale being saved for Liverpool.. or is Lucas? Both have played well against Liverpool historically

I think he deserved a start tbh. He was building up momentum and won't be starting Wednesday ether so it might set him back again. I really hope fatigue doesn't play a part of the Liverpool game.
I wanted to see Lo Celso in for Bergwijn, personally. I know he's doing a tactical job for us but I think Bergwijn is the only player that could be replaced in this lineup right now.
