On another night this game would be out of sight like the Marine one. We as a team need to be more clinical, Bale should have had a hat trick, Tanganga should have buried it and if Vinicius would just stay onside once in a while he may get a chance or two.

Got to give a little bit of credit to Wycombe they’ve been at it. They’ve not been dirty, and haven’t come to the game looking for a draw etc. Been an entertaining game so far.

That’s exactly how they play and have done for a large part of the last 18 months. The game has gone completely how I thought it would. They’re a physical team. No PL side is used to playing teams like this. They’ve actually played it about more than normal.

Can see an anti-Bale camp is forming. Granted it hasn't quite work out from his return, but it's only a loan where we are still in healthy position in various competitions to see him comes good. There are many terrible players at hand we can berate, and Bale is definitely not even in top 5. The lengths at some calling him shit is just uncalled for and disgusting, knowing how good he can be when he regains the form.

The other thing is persisting with Bale, knowing the player he was/is, may give us that extra quality to really push harder to compete on all levels.

That's worth persisting for.

We
Well we don't exactly have much choice. Whats the point in paying all those wages and not trying to let him get into some kind of form that'll help us.

Secondly, he's doing better than people make out. Sure, everyone was expecting a superstar but he still pops up with goals/moments - decisive ones too (Stoke, Wycombe, Antwerp, Brighton).

He is getting into positions but he just needs that extra push to start to be more consistent.

I respect your opinion but what do you mean by we don't have much choice? We're also Gedson a good wage and he can't even get a gig as a ball boy!

We're all going to have different views on players and how we play.

Wycombe playing some banging tunes at half time. First Our House with Madness and then Home with Edward Shape & the Magnetic Zeros

Edit: Now followed up with This must be the place with Talking Heads. Amazing!

On a side note I’m shocked at how poorly Toby has dealt with the big guy upfront. Would have thought he’d have more experience and nouse than to get sucked in to a physical battle that he’s gonna lose.

Hojbjerg coming on. We need to recall Skipp. Evidently, we cannot play even a single game without Hojbjerg. We'll be fucked if he gets hurt.

Good take by Bale, the ball was high and he had to reach it but a lovely run towards the near post and a good ball in by Moura. Plenty of chances but I was beginning to wonder if it'd was one of those days.
We really came good towards the end though, I think we got angry with their physicality and I hope that continues.
Basically it's a proper cup tie.

I’ve seen no hatred toward Bale. In fact he’s had an easy ride considering he’s not hit form since rejoining. Not sure other players would get such favourable treatment.

Here are just a FEW of the choice comments on today's thread:

Laughable effort by Bale, sad to see.
Bale will be subbed off at half time for sure.
Bale is shit.
Get bale off
Do we just cancel the Bale loan now?

No you're right. Everyone was totally fair and loving Bale until he scored!
