Hey, Liverpool lost too... it happens to the best of us! Just a weird season that's all... we've got a new stadium, great players and one of the best managers in soccer history - of course it's going to take a little time for it all to 'click'...

I really don't think Jose has anyone enjoying their football. World class teams who're loving the game don't shut up shop after going 1-0, they carry on going and blow the other team away. I think playing under Jose is psychologically exhausting and that was the last thing the squad needed after they burnt out under Poch.

I agree but I also think we have such a limp dick group of players. They’re all such pussies.

I'm surprised they have not become the ****s we are all thinking they will be after the AON documentary. They even lost their physicality and gotten more pussy than ever.

Alderweireld, Dier, Davies, Aurier, Reguilon, PEH, Lamela, Alli and Kane are all players that have plenty of fight in them. Especially PEH, Lamela and Kane. PEH is fucking viking for fuck sakes. Kane is the hardest working striker in the league. Lamela is a proper ****, our ****.

And a keeper mate I don’t know if PSG have turned his head or he just ain’t good enough for the prem

Other than a couple of decent months at the beginning of this season he's been awful for like 3 years, well before the PSG interest. We were no worse with Gazzaniga in goal last season. We need to replace him, along with basically the entire defence.

Maybe it's not Mourinho or the players. Perhaps we've just run out of luck and are finally playing at the level of our investment. We've been punching above our weight for years.
I wonder if it was something, or someone, that had us punching above our weight for all those years. What possibly overlapped with those years that might explain this a bit better than luck?

I think this is it. The death knell, not just for Mourinho but also the squad. Or at least a proportion of the squad that just look way out of their depth. We have one of the most impressive infrastructures/ stadium in the world, which cost serious money that there’s just no way what’s currently happening on the field is sustainable. Each season we lose out on Champions League football, the value of the club dips. This is not what Enic have planned for, but letting a squad stagnate to this level is negligent and now it’s biting the club hard.

There has to be a review of the state we’re in, an evaluation of what has gone wrong and what isn’t working, from top to bottom. Enic will have to play the market hard, but also be open minded, willing to shift the sub-par players at lesser rates or we could continue in this cycle for a few more seasons until we’re mid table fodder on a regular basis. Lots to do

It thinks that's pretty much it to be honest.

I love Lamela, but surely our sights are higher than a lad who leaves the foot in every week and gets booked . Its not even what he's hired to do. That PEH job. We need Lamela to be scoring and assisting.

Absolutely mate they are just not good enough, look at keepers like Pope and Johnson young decent keepers and wouldn’t break the bank, even hart getting a crack would at least put some pressure on lloris

The issue for me and why it’s been so unenjoyable watching spurs for a couple of years now is how many unforced errors we make

is that coaching or mentality or tactics that don’t suit our players It’s hard to say but it’s horrible to watch having no faith in these guys to see out a game or grind a result out

You're right, or I suppose you ought to be right anyway, but I fear you won't be. It's almost certain IMO that IF Rumpelstiltskin sacks Jose the squad will be seen, by him/ENIC/whoever as having plenty of quality and largely adequate, there'll be one or two additions/departures if we're lucky and we'll muddle along until the effects of this virus on Sport starts to lessen.

This really could go either way, either Jose has got it massively wrong and the next guy turns it completely around or it's all aboard the Levy time machine to the 1990's because the next guy does no better :D

Were you saying that when we destroyed United with 6 goals or Southampton with 5?
I think what he is saying...and i agree with...is that we have a lot of players with a flimsy mentality. Meaning, when things get rough, they often seem to lose confidence and a will to battle through.

We were actually doing very well, up until the Anfield game. That knocked the stuffing out of us. As it was already clear that our confidence was fragile. Lord knows, the Newcastle and West Ham debacles would have left some scars.

But unlike some other players, they seem to struggle when things aren’t going there way. The sign of strong mentality is to fight through the difficult periods. Whereas we have shown a number of times that this squad has a propensity to fold when faced with a run of either poor form or bad luck or both.

And regulion we need to keep as he is banging, Doherty I honestly thought was going to be a Best Buy for 15million but has not produced, dier said he has always wanted to be a cb after we bought le ceslo, shocker as when he played cb he kept saying he was a defensive midfielder

Yeah mate you’re right at least back in the day we would have a go and lose, but now we sit back and try the break, but we ain’t got decent enough defenders or keeper to hold on that long when we get battered by decent teams

We're in shit form but did anyone expect us to get anything tonight?

1st half we were good i thought. Didn't just sit in and defend but used the ball well I thought. The penalty did us.

Individual errors are fucking us. I was very vocal about our negative displays recently but I don't think we were negative tonight or vs Everton in the cup. A stupid penalty given away which Lloris should do better with. Lloris should save the second. And Dave fucks up for the third.

The last 2 games there's been about 6 individual errors costing us goals. Jose can't do anything about that. At least we've not played to just negate the opposition. Problem is we've conceded 8 goals. Love Hugo, but a top shot stopper would mean the last 2 results were very different.
Can't knock any of this.

Lamela is true fighter. Just a better decision maker away from greatness.
