wish i could link it but don't know how...i will paraphrase:

'it's a disgrace'
'we used to be a team, be together, we're not anymore'
'the people who aren't regular starters aren't doing enough to help the team'
'we have ambition, but the team at the moment is a reflection on what is happening in the club - we lack the basics, we lack the fundementals'
Too right they lack the basics, we can't string two fucking passes together, show for the ball, or mark properly.

He's right, it absolutely is a disgrace.

Lloris basically said we have squad players who are just complaining and not pulling their weight.

I mean it's obvious, Alli, Winks, Sissoko are certainly three. I'd say Dier is another.

Massive work for Levy to do the next few months. Needs to clear out these toxic wasters who aren't even good footballers, which is the most galling thing of all, but he also needs to hire the right manager.

Absolutely damning.

The way we play is not enough.

We lack the basics the fundamentals, before you could trust the team. Now not.

We were far from the dominant team.

We came here without a desire to kill the tie.

It's a disgrace from us.

Sounds like a pretty overt criticism of the manager to me. Everything that has been mentioned before. Lack of clear tactics training, lack of identity, lack of squad motivation.

If Jose is going to blame the players week in week out it's no surprise if they've given up on him.

If it was a criticism of the manager why did Hugo say “The manager told us to go out and kill the game off early but the players did the opposite of that”?

He's excactly right.

Sunday and today most of our football was pitiful.

I even commented in the the match thread about the lack of teamwork.

Hugo can say whatever he likes and I'm sure he's not wrong but he is also part of the problem. Far too many errors and if he has leadership skills they are very subtle. Not to mention the drink driving incident.

what does the drink driving incident have to do with it? unless he’s still drunk of course ?

If your captain is coming out with those comments it doesn't bode well for the manager

I don't know, feels like the opposite to me almost. It's not clear as to what he meant exactly but when he was talking about fundamentals I think he means attitude and work rate of the players, as opposed to tactical fundamentals. To me it sounds like he's putting emphasis on questionable personalities in the dressing room.

What I just don't get is that you hear that and think fuck they must be fired up and we'll go and put out another spineless performance on Sunday.

I don’t think Lloris’ interview was aimed at Jose at all. I’m not sure how it can be interpreted as that.
I think it was aimed squarely at some of the players essentially not giving a fuck and not playing for or contributing to the team.

To me the subtext is pretty clear. The team is a shambles. They're not being coached the fundamentals. The manager hasn't instilled an identity, motivated the squad or fostered a team spirit. Sure he's accepting that everyone is partly to blame but that's as open a criticism of the way things are being run as you're going to get from a player.

For me he is having a go at some of the squad, and I think we all know who those individuals are. He's sick of it, I am sick of it and you too are sick of this

You're right, I'd not seen the full interview

It's extremely obvious that Hugo was not criticising the manager for the performance tonight. He was using the same tone that Jose has used in the past - players not listening, not doing what they're asked to by the manager.

We've heard that Kane is apparently totally onboard with Jose, clearly so is Hugo. They obviously see the issue as the lack of commitment from the squad to play the way they're being asked and to put in the effort required.

However much we agree with them or not (I'm sure Jose doesn't exactly get away from this with zero criticism) - it's clear where the senior players think the problems lie, and it's not with the manager, however much a lot of us might think it is.

I can imagine the private conversations Jose will have had with his senior players. No doubt they revolve a lot around the mediocrity in a lot of the playing squad.

Yeah but regardless of all that, Jose still needs to go. Because even with our best players on the pitch this season we have lost too many games, with no tactics and no tactical imprint etc

Do you still think Jose should stay on as manager?
