Job done. But I’m more happy that we’ve started playing football throughout the whole pitch, using everyone. We are actually knocking it about and passing the ball without just getting it at the back and lumping it forward. We’ve had a pretty easy run recently which I hope has got everyone on board about playing football again. God knows what was going on with our shite run after Xmas.

That was probabaly our most satisfying win in recent times. DZG are a decent team and played well and probabaly the best team we've played against since our recent winning run.

We've showed how we can play now we just need to keep the momentum and give up on this pathetic low block game and hopefully we never see that style of play again.

Is anyone else willing to join the Moussa Sissoko fan club after that performance? I’ve been feeling a little lonely.

I think that was really impressive. Bullied them physically and played with an impressive intensity defensively while being very structured and compact, even when pressing high up the pitch. If we'd let our guard down by a few percent, I think they would have given us some trouble.

The only thing I can think of that mitigates the 'non penalty' incident. Is that Tanguy does run into the defenser, as opposed to the defender taking him down.

But... that's weak. I still don't know why it wasn't checked. What harm is there in double checking?

The officiating wasn't great. I like a ref that let's the game flow, but the dirty side of their play needed harnessing earlier on. Poor

Actually, if you look closely, you'll see that the DZ payer clips / steps on Tanguy before the main collision. Fair enough, the ref made a wrong call but there's no excuse for the VAR bods. What nationality were the officials, by the way?

No idea? Is it relevant?

as I said, it was a weak argument. No idea what makes a VAR official do a check.

I hope GLC is available for the second leg. I wouldn’t want to see a midfield axis of Sissoko & Winks.

Really? The biscuit boned lad who seems to get injured just from breathing?

Yet you hope he's available to play in the second leg against a team that is basically Vinny Jones's team from Mean Machine ?

Jose would have to send him out like.....

How did we not get that pen on N'dombele, with VAR, I'm baffled

Probably similar to how Milan got a perfectly good goal ruled out for handball despite the ball being nowhere near the players hand. Ineptitude.

Not really. The guy takes more touches than are required and plays his team mates into shit when he treats the ball like a hot potato. He's a nice guy and puts in a lot of effort every time he puts on the shirt, but his ability on the ball is sub standard.
