My opinion on who starts out of Moura and Lamela changes by the minute. Very happy with both, especially give credit to Moura because I was losing all hope with him but his new role he's done well.
I'm with Moura. I think he has the edge over the two when he starts and fits better centrally to allow Bale wide right, and Lamela is more effective than Moura off the bench when we need some energy in the last 20.

Nice headache to have, I'd go with Lucas - Lamela off the bench is a great sub by all accounts.

I am so worried about Kane's knee. He was really struggling on it after the clash - it's one of those where it could have just been impact, and if you've played the game you know those hurt for a while, but it could easily bruise up and swell badly.

Wish we'd pulled him straight after the second goal, especially the way those dirty bastards were tackling and our players were getting zero protection from the ref.

he’ll be fine

Yeah I think we're in a real golden period of squad players starting to find some form, even Davies, Winks and to an extent Doherty.

Sanchez was solid again. He strikes me as a confidence centre back who thrives on a run of games. Being rotated in and out constantly doesn’t suit him.
Yep. Like his first season.

Centre backs need to find rhythm and familiarity to be able to flourish. There is a reason teams don't often switch or sub centre backs mid game.

Jose is clearly using Lamela as the rotation option for Bale so until Bale can last a full 90 I don’t see the two playing together,

Players will head back to the training center, get some recovery work done, spend the night at the lodge and start prepping for Sunday once they wake up. Hope GLC will be fit for the weekend.

Bale's was a bit different as he wasn't in possession of the ball and the ball was coming in at a angle with a defender in between. It looked to me as it would have been a better righted footed shot but it was nowhere as obvious an issue as it was with Lamela. (the grief would have been directed on that outside the foot outswinger to Stevie right after he came in, but then again, that was a magic wand of a pass). I'm a fan of Lamela and i'd love to see him develop more skill and confidence with his right foot.
Also think Bale had his mind on Sunday by then and would have had to commit harder to make it a feasible chance,no way was he doing that at 2-0 in the last minute.

Not sure Lamela can start two in a row in such close proximity so would probably be Moura by default, although personally feel Moura deserves to start anyways.

Good game by the boys. Were well organized. Didn't seem to get out of 3rd gear. But handled them well.

The ref was abysmal. And their players were definitely instructed to lay it on thick. It astounds me that they didn't get more yellows or have someone sent off. The absolute abuse they gave Tanguy was bush league shit. And the ref let them do it.

I am hoping that no one was actually injured in the game. Moreover, I worry about the second leg. If they go further behind, I get the feeling they'll be focusing more injuring our players, than trying to play themselves back into the game.
