200 Spurs appearances (he was bought in Fall 2016).

I think that says everything about how we've surrounded Kane and Pochettino after coming so close to something special in 2016.

67 caps for the defending World champions and still getting selected. Yeah, he's appalling. (I know he wasnt in the squad in Russia).

Managers who know what they are doing keep selecting him.

Spurs Legends who presumably know football chose him player of the season a couple of years back.

His strengths clearly aren't technical but watching/remembering the Marine game shows the difference between decent part time players and PL pros. Given the space in that game and his touch actually looked good.
His strengths are not anything to do with a ball, which is unfortunate considering his profession.

This appeal to authority our fans do is really getting on my nerves. Yes, we may not be professional football managers but everyone watching the United match on Sunday was cursing the substitution of Sissoko on. There's been multiple 30 minute stretches of the match when even relegation teams have played us off the pitch and Sissoko has simply pointed instead of receiving passes. It's kind of insulting to fans who actually watch every match to say that Sissoko has been good.

I think your beef is with Deschamps, Poch and Mourinho, not me. They are the ones who insult you by playing a crap footballer when there are other options.

And here is the issue both with picking Sissoko and with paying Ndombele in the final third... Ndombele will constantly drop back into his own third, as is already happening, to get the ball because with Sissoko in the middle of the pitch it’s the only way he’ll ever see it.

First 13 minutes of this match have been as bad as the line up suggested it’d be. I hope it improves and I look like a **** for being so premature in my criticism but this fraud getting yet another life regardless of how atrocious he is makes me want to throw up.

He's a complete coward. Always hiding from the ball, pointing to others to receive it instead of him. He's been the same since he joined us. I can't understand how any Tottenham fans would want this guy at our club.

I was a happy when we signed Sissoko, he was my player of the season 18-19, but what he offered most was he was a work horse, could cover lots of ground and protected our players when we attacked, but two things have happened, we rarely attack so his main benefit is gone, and secondly now that he’s not a regular his fitness levels have gone, he’s panting after 5 mins where as before he could run endlessly, basically anything he offered us is gone and he has been terrible this season.

mourinho wanted a powerful selection against everton -who can be quite physical themselves.
That why, imo, he dropped moura, my motm against manu.
Sissoko is a big intimidating lump, and perfect for that strategy.

It was the less powerful players who had poor games - reggi, son, and ndom - they couldn't cope with the physicality. So I don't think mourinho's (potential) assessment was wrong.

Physicality is still an important attribute.

Dier and PEH both physical and were rubbish as well so not sure the Mourinho assessment holds true.

I just don't understand why he gets picked - even on the bench.

He is awful. No redeeming qualities as a footballer.
Passing is shit,
tacking is non-existent,
heading and challenging in the air is awful, control and confidence on the ball is crap, awareness and defensive mindedness is fucking shit
and all this coupled with his inability to pose any sort of threat going forward. I just don't see the appeal of him at all. It is like playing with 10 players whenever he is on the pitch.

It is like playing with 10 players whenever he is on the pitch.

The sad thing is then when he plays, it's the players around him who get all of the criticism for their mistakes, despite being outnumbered. On the other hand, Sissoko never makes a mistake because he does bugger all.
