Did you see Zokora? He was very good considering he was playing out of position the whole match.

Huddlestone - urgency? Does he actually run? He did play some nice passes.

I agree with Keane, he came on and ran his socks off.

Robinson 5 - Flapping and Punching
Zokora 5 - Played out of position, and it showed
Lee 5 - Offers nothing going forward, always checks inside. Poor defensively
Dawson 4 - At fault for first goal - shows a lack of composure
Kaboul 5.1 - Probably the best of the defence.....not that that says a lot.
Jenas 6.1 - MOTM just for workload
Boateng 4 - Not doing enough to justify his big pricetag
Malbranque 6 - Worked hard, but created little
Lennon 5 - Worked hard defensively, but offered nothing going forward. Scared of taking on his man.
Berbatov 5 - Was he interested? Great player, but not a fighter.
Defoe 6 - Very quiet until the goal, but showed what a good goal poacher he really is.

Subs
Huddlestone 6 - Passed the ball around well, but so immobile.
O'Hara 5 - Not to blame for the goal, and mainly a spectator for the game.
Keane 5 - I would love to see him actually follow through with a tackle - always jumps out of the way...

Ramos - 6 I think that the subs were required and the tactics employed were fine, however, he alongside the defence and Robbo take the blame for the second goal and the poor marking. Should have identified the key threat (set-plays) and arranged the marking accordingly. To put a 5 foot midget up against Laursen was ridiculous. Note that Jenas was on the goal line............

Overall very poor - Highlights the real need for a commanding centre back who can organise his defence in Kings absence.

Thought Boateng was dreadful and was very glad he was subbed. Looked like he was going to give away a free kick every time he challenged a Villa player, terribly wayward passing, poor showing. Thought everyone else was mediocre. Too drab a game to come up with marks. Was a poor spectacle.

yeah sorry, i forgot zokora and he was prob the best of the bunch.

what i mean by hudds urgency was his ability to see a pass and quickly execute it rather than taking 5 touches

Sorry but I don't agree with that and you have contradicted yourself. On the one hand you say that Ramos was partly to blame for us letting in 2 more soft goals from set plays and the you go on to say that we need to get a centre-half to command the defence in such circumstances(the latter part I agree with)? How can Ramos tell the players, mid-game, who to pick up? I am fairly sure that O'Hara was not told to pick up Laursen but just did it at the time. That has nothing to do with Ramos.

For me Ramos was our MOTM for getting the players back into the game.

Kaboul 6

Boateng 5
Jenas 5
Lennon 5
Malbranque 6

Berbatov 4 (I hate how whenever he pisses up he just falls over and doesn't get back up)
Defoe 5 (Extra point for the finish, other than that he was shit)

SUBS
Huddlestone 6
Keane 6
O'Hara 5

Did anyone else think that Taarabt maybe would have been a better substitution than O'Hara? Huddlestone and O'Hara are both fairly similar players, Taarabt woul have added something different. Having said that Ramos did kind of have his hand forced for Kaboul's injury. Taarabt would have been good for the last 20 minutes if we'd still been chasing, and still had a sub left.

at least zokora is a good back up for chimbonda. Well worth a place on the bench when everyone is back

Do you not think that people should be identified before the game? I am pretty sure that Laursen and Mellberg would have been looked at as they are both pretty useful at set plays. I would have thought that between Ramos and the players, that it would be agreed beforehand who was to mark who. As an example, Dawson was meant to mark Mellberg.

I doubt O'Hara was told to mark Laursen, but someone was. Ramos takes some of the blame/responsibility as we are still not good enough at defending set plays - it is something that needs to be drilled in training otherwise we will continue to concede these awful goals.

whats all these low scores for berba. when he had the ball he passed to OUR players, when he didn't have the ball he made space for himself and screamed for the ball but the rest of our fuckwit team passed it backwards.

I feel sorry for him.

Robinson was OK today, he was quick off his line and did deal with the crosses. I honestly dont see why punching a cross out is such a crime in so many peoples minds.

Boateng was fuckign shit. Only Zokora, Keane and maybe Hudd can even feel remotely satisfied with that. Brilliant goal by Defoe but he needs to do more
