I know you're not trying to be annoying Joey but when I'm being positive about your argument , as I was in my initial post , it is necessary to condense it as it was only a small part of my overall point . You're being unrealistically and rather stupidly pedantic .

And now I'm here , one of the glaring flaws in your argument ( I call it ' your argument' because I don't propose to put in all 2 pages of it to placate you)....IS that as a broadsheet journo put it so succinctly recently...

...' The first job of a manager ( and don't you freaking dare to get finicky about coach/manager definitions) is to MOTIVATE the players '

You have been opining how simple the business of managing/coaching a team is...Wrong . To motivate millionaires who never need work again to go out and risk injury is anything but simple . You are very interesting and good on the practical issues of tactics, systems formations etc but forget that it all means absolutely fuck all if the players have the wrong attitude . Each player will have different cues required to motivate him .

Its the opposite of simple .

But again you are totally missing the point of my argument , which isn't concerned with all managerial issues, but those of tactical and technical coaching related issues. Hence I wasn't being pedantic and it was important to distinguish between the term manager and coach. So I'm not being annoying you are. I'm not just saying that tit for tat, as you genuinely are. You are misunderstanding my argument and consistently misrepresenting what i have been saying. I can't be bothered to to find all the threads in which I've made different poitns that build up a bigger picture of my overall argument, but if you read my comments in this one (post link below) concerning our set piece defending, then you'll get a better idea about what i'm saying and that it really isn't that "all managers are the same" and that things like motivation aren't important. So, I have to get all "finicky" in order to distinuguish between what coach can do in technical and tactical capacity, from the impact he can have in terms of selecting the right players and motivating the right players etc.
