I dont understand why you'd select a player like lingard, if he's not in the squad? What's the point? Or was he selected last minute / covering an injury?

Southgate said he just missed out on the making the squad and that he'd be starting today to immediately have the opportunity to prove him wrong for not taking him. Seems dumb to me, what if Lingard plays a blinder? Then what?

Just send the players that didn't make it on their holidays.

He gave them the option of staying with the squad, partly because City and Chelsea players aren't joining until tmrw.

I don't know about the others that were cut but when JWP was told he can go home he said he'll stay to help out the squad in any way he can.

Absolutely agree with this. Not sure why Trippier is playing left back either as I would like to think he won't be playing there for our opening game...

Only a friendly to get sharp and fitness back up so can't read much into it. Bellingham looks really lively, and Grealish has been involed in everything. Think if he and Kane can strike up a partnership it could be lethal in the tournament proper.

Passing has been a bit hit and miss, to be expected.

The agenda against us is madness, they love to mug of Kane and his positioning when all the other players are out of position... TAA been having a bad game but Ian Wright is saying he’s great :banghead:
