He was capable of putting in some 8, 9, or 10 out of 10 performances from time to time, but equally or more likely to put in a 1, 2, or 3 out of 10 performance. This is true, but to a bit of a lesser extent, of a number of out defenders. One key way for us to improve next season will be getting in some defenders with a higher floor on performance.

But as you say, he should definitely be respected for making himself available for the team after suffering unspeakable tragedy. And, I think he improved as a player in his time here, even having some stretches where he was arguable our best player over a month. But, then the consistency issue would hit and he'd fall apart. Hope we can get a decent fee and he can find himself in a situation where he's happy, but I won't be too sad that I won't see his name on a team sheet again.

He certainly does have many positive qualities. Still way too rash and unpredictable IMO. Eg giving away the completely unnecessary pen against Leicester, the freekick which resulted in Citeh’s winning goal in the LC final etc etc.

Pretty annoyed it seems like the club is happy to keep him around and just use the reasoning that it was only one year. Sell him while he still maintains some value. That's how you get stuck with these guys when they suck for multiple years.

With PSG close to confirming Hakimi, I don't think Serge will find his way back to Paris. Unless, PSG are completely revamping their RB options and want Serge as the back-up RB.
