Don’t think we will get close to what we paid for him. His contract only has 12 months left. But something in the region of 10-15 million would be a good fee.

I think it will be hard to find a taker he will be willing to go to.

Personally don't think he's good enough for where we aspire to be. Consistency is key, something Aurier all too often lacks.

He's improved somewhat this last season, but I still believe his decision making is far too erratic, and at times costly.

If he gets a move, I wish him well, and thank him for at least coming to Spurs and giving it a go.

Respect for turning out to try and help the team so soon after the tragedy relating to his brother.

On, a lighter note, rightly or wrongly, those foul throws still make me chuckle.

agree with this.
I don’t think anyone questions his application and commitment, and as a person he seems a good guy.
it is his positioning, lack of willingness to defend added with his erratic decision making usually within our penalty area that mean he isn’t a viable option for a side with intentions of challenging for the title or top 4.

Interesting fact, we've never had a rb that the fan base perceive as good enough, untill they leave and we realise they were actually alright.

Disagree. Steve Carr was very highly rated.

But since the beginning of the Prem that is probably about it. Fans were split on Corluka and Kyle Walker.

No need to feel sad mate- just fuck off right along with him to whichever club he moves to.

Win/win.
What an absolute twat of a comment!
Why do people feel the need to be such aggressive ****s on a site where we all support the same club?

I mean, you're 53 years old and you're coming out with shite like that because someone said that they actually liked Aurier?!
Take a look at yourself in the mirror mate.

Now confirmed he's looking to leave.

Dodgy translation:

Without tongue in cheek, everyone is aware that if I wanted to extend at Tottenham, I would have done so already. I'm not going to do it in six months. I have known the Premier League, a C1 final. I have reached the end of a cycle and it is time to look elsewhere. The two parties, the managers and my agents (VV consulting, the company of Vadim Vasyliev), agree on the conditions. We'll see after. I have never hidden my desire to return to PSG one day. It is my club of heart, the one that I support, I feel free to speak about it. But I don't want people to think I'm kicking my foot out and closing the door on no one. But if the club makes a proposal this summer, it is sure that PSG will be one of my first choices

I don’t think Aurier is good enough, which is obviously true of a fair few of our players. I think he’s capable of some very good performances but ultimately there’s a lack of either awareness or discipline, or a bit of both, during 90 minutes which leads to him making the same errors over and over again.

Sadly this could be copied and pasted about at least two of our other regular defenders.

However, a year ago, when we had a few matches left and he was our only viable option at right back, he suffered huge tragedy, the type that must young men dread more than any other, and he still made himself available, pushed on and played through it. So while I don’t feel he is good enough as a player, at all, he does deserve far more respected than he is getting.

Agree with all this. Ultimately, it's his lack of consistency that's too much of an issue, IMO. He was capable of putting in some 8, 9, or 10 out of 10 performances from time to time, but equally or more likely to put in a 1, 2, or 3 out of 10 performance. This is true, but to a bit of a lesser extent, of a number of out defenders. One key way for us to improve next season will be getting in some defenders with a higher floor on performance.

But as you say, he should definitely be respected for making himself available for the team after suffering unspeakable tragedy. And, I think he improved as a player in his time here, even having some stretches where he was arguable our best player over a month. But, then the consistency issue would hit and he'd fall apart. Hope we can get a decent fee and he can find himself in a situation where he's happy, but I won't be too sad that I won't see his name on a team sheet again.

Be interesting to see what fee we may get if he does leave, and also who Paratici has in mind to replace him.
