I’m somewhat reluctant to raise this thought, as I am sure it could come across as sanctimonious pearl-clutching… and perhaps it is and I am yet to realize it, but does Kane’s actions in the greater context of the world these last 18 months leave a particularly bad taste in anyone’s mouth? Refusing to work while earning top wages, while so many people have lost jobs is in incredibly poor taste.

And if he is indeed taking advantage of quarantine restrictions to delay his return, as some have suggested, then that’s even worse. That is speculation though, so let’s leave that at that for now.

I thought I would post to get a gauge on if I’m over-reacting or if there is a rational agreement with this.
No I agree with you.

I've felt so down on spurs. Mourinhos reign to me was awful, poisonous and I started to dislike the team. The manager search made it worse, especially the mendes links.

I've always backed the players though. I know agents, I've been a scout I'm not naive enough to think players are supporters but I feel this generation have always shown a class and respect towards the sport.

Kane paints himself as the ultimate pro but actually he is just acting like a spoilt, ignorant and arrogant prick. No problem with him wanting to leave but be professional about it and show some respect to the millions of fans who have always backed you.

To just stay in florida is disgusting. In any other line of work he would be sacked without a reference. I guess he thinks he can do what he wants.

You know, I just can't figure out why or how they've been so successful since the Mansoor's turned up. It's a complete mystery.

City as a oil injected farce of a club I hate, but their eye for talent is impressive. its why I don't really understand their switch in transfer targets.

Dangerously close to Campbell at the moment, sadly.

I’m really struggling to think of who’d be between Berbs and Campbell. Who have we hated for their attitude/actions or the way in which they’ve left (I.e. not for footballing reasons)?

Someone needs to make a Kane-****-o-metre :p

What’s the scale?

Bale
Teddy
Modric
Berbatov
?
?
Campbell

He’s hovering around Berbatov for me right now.

None of the listed have ever failed to turn up at the start of training as far as I am aware.

Robbie Keane? But that felt more like he had a few months off where we just took the piss over his "boyhood dream" and then he came back and just resumed from there. Never really hated him for it, it was just Robbie being a dickhead for a bit.

Ghaly maybe?

Not quite deserving of the same company as the other players however!

Yeah, it'll take some doing to knock Campbell off the top spot but Kane's sitting just below him at the moment.
I think it's because of the "one of our own" stuff.
I can understand him wanting to leave and I'd be OK with him going, I just hate the way he's gone about it.
City haven't even made a decent offer ffs but he's currently hiding away in another country and sulking like a bitch.
Sol downright lied, then joined our arch rivals for nothing. That's despicable but Kane is currently shitting on anyone involved with Spurs too.
The only redeeming factor is that we might (should) get some decent wedge for him.

Chances are City have gone with Grealish, leaving Kane looking s bit silly. However, if City suddenly produce the 170ish bid and blow near 300mill on two players in one window then everyone else may give up. The game is rigged as it is, but will be beyond corrupt if City,Chelsea and their ilk continue to get away with financial doping.

Way past Berbatov for me. That guy never pretended not to be a mercenary.
I think what’s really shitty is putting himself into a position of taking advantage of the current isolation protocols so he doesn’t have to return

I would bet my house that he’d find a way to get round the isolation procedure otherwise. Or it’d be fast tracked in some way etc.

Proper dick move.

“Ohhh noooo, can’t. Sorry. Covid. Gotta isolate. Rules are rules.”

Yeah, fuck off. It doesn’t wash at all. Footballers are largely in a bubble anyway and have been travelling with their countries for the Euros etc.

Absolute shite hawk.

To be honest, I don’t even really know how he managed to put up the numbers he did last season. He’s looked nothing but leggy, off the pace and lethargic for the last 6 months or so. If not more.
Im not just saying this because all this has come out, as that would seem awfully convenient, but there’s always been something that I can’t put my finger on about Kane that I’ve not been a fan of and he’s never been my favourite player. Something about the way he plays that irks me. I think he’s very good, but I don’t “like” him as such.

Personally, I wouldn’t miss him. I’ve always preferred Bale, Son, Lamela, Vertonghen, Dembele etc.

We’ll see what happens.

What I do know, is that his shenanigans are essentially fucking Spurs in a number of ways right now. And thats about as low as you can go.

I hope his vanity project wins him fuck all and I hope he regrets this behaviour for the rest of his life.

Spurs have designated self-isolation quarters where staff and players can stay in lux digs at the training ground with huge open spaces both indoors and out, and work on individual training/fitness.

Webster ruling would run Campbell very close!

The 5 day quarantine must be the Bahamas, no quarantine out of the States at this point.
Excuse me - say what? Florida is the very hotspot of COVID Delta outbreak in the US, and there is no quarantine travelling from there to the UK?!? ??

Who’s in charge of the UK quarantine system - Charlie Kane?

Yeah, Berba pissed me off with his attitude but we didn't have the affinity with him that we had for Kane.
I remember being furious with Berbs when Jol (I think it was) told him to warm up off the bench and he just sauntered down the touchline and squated on his haunches, watching the game instead.
I thought that was massively disrespectful but Kane, with the fact that he was supposedly 'one of us', has massively trumped anything Berba did.
